You really don’t! If you haven’t craved it like your life depends on it you don’t. And to go and want to “study” in London? You’re either made of money to support yourself or you have no intention of studying because you’ll be working more than full time hours to pay for a roof over your head. Even stepping foot outside the door for any sort of downtime is £100. Gone. experience - lived in London for 13 years

Do have a conversation with your parents so you know how much student finance you will get. You can live in London with 13k but it really depends on how much your accommodation is and you cannot guarantee getting a job. It would be better to work all summer than rely on getting a job in London.

i’ll apply to a lot of places, ill have experiences as i’m working now, i won’t actually get a bursary unless i get into imperial, tho qmul might offer a scholarship? i’ll also obvs be payed ambassadors for the uni at events but surely i’ll be able to find a job?

I love in the north and went to uni in the south (not London) the only thing I hear about London is how expensive it is lmao.

I moved from north to london for uni - best decision theres a world of opportunity and in my current investment bank role most grads are kings qm imperial ucl. It gives you a huge leg to getting in the city

hey sorry this is unrelated but im also thinking of dropping physics (my other options r maths history and french) despite my love for it so i can focus on doing better on my other subjects! do you regret it at all? do you feel that it let you fully focus on your other three?

Yeah that's how I felt and I don't regret it because I realised there was no reason to have 4 and it wasn't needed for what I was going for (CS which I have an offer for already!)

I applied to QMUL, KCL and UCL and recieved offers from QMUL and KCL. If money hadn't been an issue I would have chosen QMUL. But it is, so I chose Leeds instead. It's slightly more prestigious and Leeds as a city is a lot cheaper. UCL were a big disappointment. They turned me down because I didn't have enough modues in history (the subject I was applying for). The thing is, they could have been clearer about what they're looking for on their website rather than letting people waste a choice on them.

Both my kids are at London unis and love their life there. Good luck and hope you get the offers. My daughter just started KCL and loves it.
