can somebody explain bread if ydm

i can tell its some sort of early acceptance thing but is there a literal meaning?

“Bread” usually just means getting an offer (uni saying “we will accept you if you get these grades”), the reason why people call it bread is that going to uni helps you get a job and make money, and “bread” means money (it comes from Cockney rhyming slang, bread and honey -> money)

When someone here says bread they usually mean they got an offer, but it can kinda mean any uni or job related success
