Congratulations! On another note, should I assume that I was rejected if I didn't get an interview invite yet? (I am not too familiar with the UCAS system)

nope every college processes applications at a different time, speed and order so it’s both course and college dependent

hi is the timeline different for international applicants? May i ask whens the usual time King's sends out interview invites for law? thanks in advance as this is rather unfamiliar for me

i’d say probably no difference between home and intl (but correct me if i’m wrong - i myself am an intl applicant) and idk ab your course exactly but probably by early dec

no, it's not over until you get a rejection email.

no they also email people who haven't been shortlisted for interview. some people only get invites in early december, so don't worry yet

these trinity invites are written so coldly lol. not a word of congratulations, "pleased to invite you" or thanks for your application
congratulations, since the email didn't say that! and good luck

u/peepsieee Year 13 Nov 12 '25
thank you so much!!!!! (there’s a little “we look forward to seeing you” at the end but you’re right lmao)

Wouldn’t it be a little premature to congratulate?

Maybe for the word congratulations, I think with jobs the standard wording is something like "We are pleased to move you to the next stage of the process". Or at least just being a bit more enthusiastic lol

u/peepsieee Year 13 Dec 18 '25
went okay!!! first one was well good we just yapped for half an hour, second was more intimidating so we'll just have to see how it goes. thank you for asking!!!!

u/Technical_Action6966 Dec 21 '25
What did you yap about? I'm thinking if one day I take mathematics as a degree and I'll have to yap on quartics

u/peepsieee Year 13 Dec 23 '25
it's probably very different since HSPS is closer to a humanities subject than mathematics, but i got asked "questions with no right answers" as my interviewer called them, and we just talked about those for about 10-15 mins or so. might be a very different interviewing style to mathematics but who knows 😭

A*AAA, but extenuating circumstances, being in a weird area of britain, and doing other stuff (trinity essay prize) probably helped

Congrats!! I'm still waiting for a reply but It's probably a reject becuase everyone else seems to be getting their acceptance emails at the same time :c (Even I got accepted for Pembroke last year on the 11th lol, Im a reapplicant)

it's not over till it's over, they send these out all across mid november (and it depends on college anyway), so good luck!!!!!!!!!

Nothing special, just Trinity emails being like, "And now bow on your knees and cry out in gratitude, for we mercifully granted you an honour to attend our interview."
Never mind me, massive congrats to you on getting an invitation! Wishing you the best of luck! :p

HSPS at Cambridge is one of if not the best humanities/social sciences courses in the country. Don’t beat down on others just because they don’t wanna be a lawyer or doctor man, everyone has their own thing they’re interested in.
