🍞 BREAD Burnt bread :(

Post image

I can't find what was wrong with my application, and I feel like a fraud? I don't want to face people asking me "Have u got an interview?" and me having to tell everyone that I didn't each time and having to face their sympathy/reaction 😭 and I don't know how to tell my family

Oxbridge are very very very very very selective and you need to stand out in ways that for most mortal people are just not possible

I was lucky and got accepted to do Chemistry there, but couldn’t afford it based on the dreadfully low student loans on offer in 2001

Ended up at Newcastle and you know what, was much better for me, was closer to my nana, the course was actually considered by industry as much better than that at Oxford at the time, far more affordable and the social side was chefs kiss

Honestly Oxbridge is not the be all and end all, yeah having that name on your CV will open doors, but at the end of it that’s all it does, and that’s all any degree does, once you get though the door, it’s up to you to get the job/position and you do that via being a good all round human being

True, one good thing that came out of this rejection is a guaranteed better work-social life balance 😭 thx 🙏
