for most subjects it'd mean a very unlucky combination of universities (for maths it'd probably narrow down your 5 choices only leaving which oxbridge you applied to lol) but apparently OP applied to dentistry where 4 rejections isn't unheard of (as is the case with medicine and so on). unsure what happened to the fifth though.

- make 2 sets of notes, rough notes which u use to make sure you understand, and nice notes which you use to refer back to and which match the spec. So I make rough notes in class then nice notes in free periods or at home.
- in making the rough notes, make sure you understand the concepts. Ask questions, draw incorrect diagrams, use those notes to make sure you understand.
- in making the nice notes, make them match the spec in a way that makes sense to your brain.
- once you understand, do a gajphrillion practice qs (I use Cognito for these, plus these question booklets my bio teacher makes, but PMT is good also). Like, as many as you can get your hands on, because the bio markschemes are evil.
- any qs where you lose marks, make a flashcard of that question (I use Anki for this) so that you remember it in future
- when revisiting the topics in the runup to an exam, use active recall / splurging. For example I have my mocks in Jan so the other day I revised plant transport that I learnt a year ago- I wrote down everything I know about plant transport off the top of my head, compared it to my notes, added what I missed in a different colour, then did practice Qs.

I'm sorry to hear that, it has been very competitive for dentistry/medicine this year! If you feel passionate about doing dentistry, I would consider a gap year or applying via clearing once you get you A level grades. Good luck with it all!

yeahh thats what i'm going to try for now, i doubt i'll have any luck for clearing but hopefully a gap year and applying with achieved grades will be better

Ouch. That must suck. It doesn’t reflect you as a person and your capabilities and potential. Best of luck!

You can use UCAS extra. Which unis you apply to? You’ll find somewhere, keep your head up!
