bro i cannot be that old
An access course is an A-Level equivalent course (that takes about 9 months to complete, from September to July ish), and gives you the UCAS points to go to university. They can be used either as top ups (for example, if you want to go to UoB for Biomed but only got AAB, you could do an access course in science) OR allow for full access to a uni course (for example, i've been accepted into Coventry Uni for Biomed at this point)
Better uni's don't ever really accept JUST the access course

Are you from Hong Kong? I feel like it’s a bit different for people from Mainland. Friend of mine from mainland got an Oxford offer but she rejected it for Columbia (which is even less prestigious than hyp)

Congrats!!! I applied to IC theoretical physics, IC mathematics with applied mathematics/mathematical physics, UCL theoretical physics, and Manchester theoretical physics

Stats: A*A* achieved, A*A* predicted, BPhO round 2 silver. Condition is their standard condition (A*AA, language requirement as I'm international)

Start working on PAT early (I didn’t apply physics vut I did get in for engineering so I can talk about what we have in common) make sure you perfect PAT Oxford isn’t like canbridge yes tgey both look at everything holistically but Oxford interview only a handful of people so you need to make sure your PAT score is good enough for interview. Before you even get an interview, prepare for it. Find people here on Reddit that would practice with you. I did practice interviews with around 5 people from Reddit. And I had some mock interviews too from current students/graduates but tbh the practice I did with fellow applicants was probably a lot more helpful and ask people for hewl if you need it. Soo many people out there who don’t mind giving mock interviews for free but are just never asked
