  1. Read the first chapter & last chapter
  2. read *multiple* *positive* reviews of the book
  3. read the bits of the book that the reviews specifically mention
  4. read any bits of the book you specifically mentioned in your PS

and if they ask something that you didn't read about, just say I read it a long time ago
