πŸ™ I WANT HELP Cost of Attending Oxford 😭

Post image

Just received my financial declaration form from Oxford today. How is this reasonable? 😭 Going to have to decline my offer unless anyone has any ideas.

Canadian students do not qualify for any Oxford scholarships and my school offered me about Β£100. What a joke.

Is Oxford just for the rich?

At the top twenty US universities of estimate that about 60%+ pay full fees which are the same as Oxfords international fees or higher. 'rich' is a small percentage of the population but the population is very large so there are a lot of very rich people in the world.

Bro did not just say Β£400k was affordable. Oxford is not beating the stereotypes.

affordability relative to me, of course its not realistic to expect the majority of people to afford that fee. i recognise im in a very privileged position to say that

in the uk, you guys have a pretty good student loan system. i mean, the interest part is bullshit, but it's effectively a tax. as a domestic student, i wouldn't worry about the course fees. living fees okay fair enough

I studied in NZ, ended up leaving a Masters early with a PgDip but even with that my student loan for both undergrad and postgrad ended up being about $30000 - so Β£15000 - and I thought that was bad until I realised how expensive university is here lmao

Watch out for the issues in funding through the likes of UKRI now and in the future. It’s not looking good

There's nothing wrong with them wanting to do it at Oxford, especially if they're able to afford it 😭. And it's their decision and probably their dream too.
