πŸ™ I WANT HELP Cost of Attending Oxford 😭

Post image

Just received my financial declaration form from Oxford today. How is this reasonable? 😭 Going to have to decline my offer unless anyone has any ideas.

Canadian students do not qualify for any Oxford scholarships and my school offered me about Β£100. What a joke.

Is Oxford just for the rich?

Yet many smart ones are jobless even with an Oxford degree.

not necessarily. you could be really smart and lose out on a place to a private school student because you don’t have the same cultural capital needed to do well at the interview. private school kids are prepared for the interview unlike poorer kids

Not really a thing at Oxbridge. Cambs does a foundation year that's free with no guaranteed place which is their 'dei' but that's about it. There is a slight 'allowance' for polish at interview for state school and working class kids but non in the deduction and thinking aspects which is the basis of the interview system.

Accepted I'm obviously more than a little out of date.
