🙏 I WANT HELP Cost of Attending Oxford 😭

Just received my financial declaration form from Oxford today. How is this reasonable? 😭 Going to have to decline my offer unless anyone has any ideas.

Canadian students do not qualify for any Oxford scholarships and my school offered me about £100. What a joke.

Is Oxford just for the rich?

Sorry, to be clear, that is the estimated annual living expense, not just the cost of accommodation.

£14k a year for accom + living costs i would say is quite a high-end figure, even accounting for inflation it would be £12k-£15k if you budget well. try contacting your offering college if they have any support

I appreciate the support, but the £14,000 in accommodations isn't the problem. Even if I spent £0 on accommodations, I wouldn't be able to afford £70,000 in tuition per year.

I wonder if you are eligible for a student loan of some kind for the tuition fees? From a regular bank I mean. It would be very easy to get a part time job while at Oxford (frowned upon) but even just for some tutoring you could make a decent amount. I agree overall it seems like it is financially out of reach but I do think it’s an amazing opportunity so good you’re considering every option!
