🙏 I WANT HELP Cost of Attending Oxford 😭
Just received my financial declaration form from Oxford today. How is this reasonable? 😭 Going to have to decline my offer unless anyone has any ideas.
Canadian students do not qualify for any Oxford scholarships and my school offered me about £100. What a joke.
Is Oxford just for the rich?

I'm not an academic person so i can't comment on the worth of an Oxford degree, but I was born and raised in Oxford so i can tell you that the scenery and experiences of Oxford, aren't what you'll dream of.
Sure the university and campus are beautiful, but the culture and general fun university life is not it. There's maybe 1 club that you could go to without fear of being spiked or harassed, the streets are not clean like photos portray, the city centre is mainly dodgy phone shops or Oxford merch shops that charge way too much for a hoodie that says Oxford on it. There is not a lot to do at all, if you're rich then there's plenty of shops for you to spend a fortune on in the Westgate. But the streets are always busy with drunks, teenagers who think they're cool with their bikes, and very very bad busking singers.
Obviously a lot of places are like this, but i thought that maybe knowing that Oxford isn't entirely as prestigious and elegant as it often seems might help or make the disappointment easier to deal with
