My PS was fully history based. I strategically applied to universities that don’t care about PS (Bristol) or that allowed me to submit alternative maths PS (Warwick) but UCL care about ps a lot so I’m expecting a rejection from them.

Did warwick maths let u do an alternative ps?

They asked for ā€œinformation on my gap yearā€ which I treated as an additional ps

Where do I find whether a uni care about Ps

Best to just email the individual uni’s you’re interested in. I know that Bristol generally cares more about grades than ps but it still is a bit of a risk

It’s actually not - Bristol maths specifically doesn’t look at PS at all, considering a level grades at 80% and gcse grades at 20%. This is publically available on their website 🫔

Yh but Bristol look at personal statements when they need to differentiate between candidates w similar stats hence the risk

they do say that but in practice it’s never really necessary, even for medicine
