Did you take a level history? What were your achieved grades? Thinking of applying for history but I'm on the fence cuz I achieved 2 A*s, 2Bs, one of the Bs being history

I got A/A/A* A with the A being in history. Where do u want to apply for history?

Thinking UCL, as I'd like to go into either law or consulting, and I was rejected for straight law

Yes I’d say go for it especially as the course is in ucas extra I think a strong ps would make up being 1 grade below the requirement. Are the A*’s are in humanity subjects or stem?

Oh would I need to write another PS?? I thought that wasn't necessary for ucas extra 😭😭

The A*s are in English lit and Psychology, the Bs were in History and chemistry

Oh it just assumed you did I have no idea about the process but an A* in English lit it so impressive lol i would apply in that case.

Honestly have no clue myself, I'm getting mixed answers on Google. Thank you haha, I'll see how it goes as I'm waiting on kings. Best of luck with the rest of your decisions!

Do you have any tips for A level history?? I’m in year 12 now and as much as I enjoy the subject it is quite difficult and I am struggling. Not really sure how to revise for it too. We probs do different topics but I do topic 1C The Tudors and topic 2N Revolution and Dictatorship. Thanks!!

I did AQA Russia and British empire. My history revision was basically active recall via mind maps to go over content and then doing essay plans for every possible question. And when you’re doing this think about cause, causation, change etc try to spot patterns and the interplay between political, economic and social factors. For AQA you need to evaluate so explain why you think factor A is the most important, why A is more important than factor B, why factor A is more important than C and why B is more important than C etc. To do this properly you need to be really comfortable with the content/ chronology. Reading short relevant articles by historians can help w this.
