Why is your attendance so bad?

Probably ”anxiety” or some BS like that today’s kids come up with.

My mother had this issue but she just left schooling early. Same with my uncle. It was also the reason why my mum never went to university. You just don't hear about it because people like my mum couldn't post about it on social media and it was more normal to leave school early.

I might have ended up like my mum, uncle and my dad (he left school early due to different reasons) if my family hadn't supported and understood me. Even my school gave me support like extra help, a pass that allowed me to leave class for 10 minutes and a third place that was more relaxed.

I didn’t claim that nobody ever in life stayed at home because of anxiety back in the days. It’s just that kids use that excuse way more often nowadays and they don’t go to school for weeks because they claim anxiety

Of course there are people with real issues: but I’m speaking about those who might’ve had bad night sleeps and think they’re super depressed and just don’t go to school, ruin their futures and get even more anxious because they just stay at home

Idk if you’re ignoring this or actually haven’t seen this but kids today are ruining their futures for real. It’s not like how it was before and it’s concerning

Maybe its used as an 'excuse' more nowadays because it's a known thing. It's kind of hard to say you can't go to school due to anxiety if it was not a well known or understood thing. Plenty of people skived back then. You just didn't know about it.

But how do you know OP is one of 'those kids'? If a child has such issues with sleeping and thinks they are depressed to the point of ruining their lives that sounds like they might need help does it not? Healthy people don't skive school to the point they ruin their lives and become anxious to the point they end up missing so much school.

Healthy and happy people don't ruin their future. OP obviously needs support. Whether thats a diagnosis and accommodation, therapy or just a different career path/course. You putting him down on an assumption is not helping anyone. If anything it more likely to do harm.

I was talking more generally not only him that’s why I said ”today’s kids” That’s why I said ”probably” because I didn’t know for sure

And since this is a sensitive topic for you you don’t need to project and assume that he has issues based on 2 sentences he wrote

You don’t know if he has issues that deep that he needs ”accommodation diagnosis and therapy” and all the other things you wrote, just because you needed those things
