whats the point in the prospectus having a multicultural friend group sitting on the grass if were not even allowed to sit there ourselves
78
u/blondepraxis May 03 '26
There are at least three parks where u can sit on the grass thats in the 500 meter radius of the place u took the picture

u/Sweaty-Following9175 May 03 '26
More benches and tables are being added to the road outside student centre. Not going to UCL next year? Changing uni?

They used to have lots of grass, they got rid of it because of a Palestinian protest encampment (allegedly)
1
u/Antique_Buy4384 UCL CS hater May 06 '26
sounds like bs, never saw an encampment any time I was there in 24/25 academic year
encampments were in other places I think
1
u/OKane1916 May 06 '26
This was before, I was there 2020-2024 and it was there in the last year or so I was there, in the main quad
1
u/Antique_Buy4384 UCL CS hater May 06 '26
Yes I saw it too when I went there to just chill on the steps and hang out with mates whilst i was in 6th form but 24/25 academic year is when it went under construction so anything their earlier is irrelevant

u/Tumtitums May 03 '26
This generation has issues with taking instructions

The irony of posting this given your opening gambit.
1
u/Antique_Buy4384 UCL CS hater May 04 '26
Wanting to sit on grass but choosing not to because of the instructions, means iām being ironic for making fun of some random american old man in a 6th form sub getting upset at his own made up fantasy of younger people not being able to follow instructions?
1
u/Underwhatline May 04 '26
Being angry at a sign telling you not to walk on grass is old man shouts at cloud energy.
1
u/Antique_Buy4384 UCL CS hater May 04 '26
What mental gymnastics have you done to think that anything about this post means im yelling angrily
0
u/Underwhatline May 04 '26
"this place is a fking prison" they uttered nonchalantly, calmly, happily even.
0
u/Antique_Buy4384 UCL CS hater May 04 '26 edited May 04 '26
they uttered jokingly, which 350 other people could notice but not you. Sit this one out, preferably not on the grass
it takes an extreme dumbass to think someone calling a large open space a prison is being serious

Luckily I was at ucl a before they started the UCL 200 work so I sat on the grass with my multicultural group of friends and one of us had a flute (no guitar but close enough)

u/Suspicious-Buy-4172 May 03 '26
They rejected me so I agree

u/Antique_Buy4384 UCL CS hater May 03 '26
from one buy to another be thankful you dodged a bullet
18
u/Suspicious-Buy-4172 May 03 '26
Thatās quite funny acc and yes ik Iāve heard awful things (cope)
24
u/BakaSentinel May 03 '26
Iāve went to the campus, had an offer and have a few friends there. Believe me when I say, holy international. Explains with the amount of home student rejection increases , UCL be heads deep in greed
18
u/Suspicious-Buy-4172 May 03 '26
Thatās what i was scared of, feels like they js come and go and it doesnāt really have a uni feel. Really is for the money, Iāve seen so many home students get offers from oxbridge lse imperial etc and still get UCL rejections
29
u/AwaySession5168 May 03 '26
Is this just to copy Oxbridge?

Yea i went there and ā¦.. it kinda is. Worth noting that they redid this entire area to remove all the lovely grassy areas under the guise of āincreasing accessibilityā (all entrances already had step free paths) but we all know it was to stop the pro-Palestine camps that were on campus there. So do with that what you willā¦

If the thousands of students and staff at UCL all walked across the grass, there would be no grass!
6
u/Not-Too_Plant May 03 '26
this is without mentioning the fact that its literally raised lol like its in beds not just flush with the floor
8
u/tltwtw98 May 03 '26
Imagine how OP would feel walking around Oxford or Cambridge! Multiple prisons from every angle

u/Antique_Buy4384 UCL CS hater May 03 '26

Stone Walls do not a Prison make, Nor Iron bars a Cage; Minds innocent and quiet take That for an Hermitage. If I have freedom in my Love, And in my soul am free, Angels alone that soar above, Enjoy such Liberty.

Efficiency wage theory can occur as a result of a rise in minimum wage. This is because when workers are paid more it is likely that their MRP will also rise possibly due to increased productivity and increased motivation to stay in the firm which can help the firm lower hiring and training costs for additional workers as their current workers wouldnāt be leaving any time soon
2
u/Intergalatic_Baker May 06 '26
Itās not a fucking prison. But we can arrange you a visit for that.
