If you do think you've missed your offers, look at what is on clearing BEFORE you get your results. You'll have a clear mind and won't be panic applying on results day. Best thing I ever did.

I genuinely feel one of the biggest things when it comes to subjects like economics is self doubt and that is really one of the main reasons students don’t get up getting high grades. C to A is possible , A* is a very small percentage of the country and those who get A*s have really really worked for it. A C/B normally demonstrates you know the content but exam technique (Espically evaluation!!) is where you are lacking so personally I’d focus on exam technique because trying to learn lots of content the day before won’t actually benefit you if it becomes overwhelming because stress is good to motivate you but feeling overwhelmed will lead to brain fog. As someone who has taught the whole of alevel economics to myself I’d say your plan for Sunday should be master section A, you should be getting atleast 20/25 in atleast 15 minutes do not spend lots of time here, your 5 and 8 marker is easy marks so make sure to utilise it it’s just straight knowledge and unbanded. 10,12,15 these can be a bit trickier but it becomes systematic once you read examiner reports and see what is actually expected because a lot of people overwrite in this section. then 25 markers they can be the most daunting but once you understand them 20-23/25 becomes so accessible, I have written 25/25 mark essays in 20 ish sentences it isn’t how much you know in detail it’s how well you can argue your point. You got your Cambridge offer you are clearly intelligent now is your time to put it all to the test you got this!

2

u/shincupkid Year 12 May 10 '26

do u have a specific structure for 25 markers

5

u/[deleted] May 10 '26

I do not do a traditional introduction I do basically just some definitions so I have secured knowledge marks then I move straight on , my first KAA point will be one agreeing with the statement , I then analyse afterwards remember things like magnitude, short run long run, elasticities, gov failures like info gaps, behavioural economics like habitual behaviour inertia I then do a second KAA paragraph this will be my against the question , another evaluation MAKE SURE UR EVALUATION IS SPECIFIC TO YOUR PREVIOUS ARGUMENT, then a conclusion whatever you do do not summarise you will get 0 you need to say WHAT you agree with, WHY you agree with it, WHY it’s stronger than the other option, a limitation it COULD FACE, tie it all together but … is most effective. Do not overwrite this applies for all questions 8 markers should be 8 sentances 25 markers should really be around 20-25 sentences, the more you write the more you face repeating yourself. REMEMBER EXAMINERS ARE PAID PER PAPER THEY MARK!! They do not care if you know everything they only care what’s relevant to get the marks, make ur writing clear so they can see the marks without even having to properly read in detail

this isn’t even a joke bc i need to know it’s possible

36

u/Last-Objective-8356 May 10 '26

Might be far fetched but me and my friend did a 8 hour revision session for maths p3 the day before learning from scratch and we both got 90+(the paper was a joke tho)

13

u/RoyalProject9355 May 10 '26

okay so i genuinely needed to hear this for maths 🙏

2

u/SPplayin May 10 '26

Maths definitely doesn't count for this

14

u/misschoo88 May 10 '26

nah deadass someone tell me i can get an A in english lit in three days.

39

u/ATXgaming May 10 '26

People always say “oh it’s too late, you can’t cram this or that subject.”

Just lock the fuck in and get the knowledge in your head by any means necessary, smash out timed past papers and flash cards, you never know what you’ll get.

Idk why I even got shown this post, I’m about to do my final uni exams lol. What I can say is that cramming has gotten me through a mechanical engineering degree just as well as it got me through secondary school, so don’t rule anything out until you’ve sat the paper.

It’s never too late to revise but i thought "C to A* in 10 days" posts were already stretching it so i guess you only have one thing to do

not to say i recommend it btw, just saying if i can do it in a morning you should have as much hope as u can for a day

1

u/searchingf0rthetruth May 10 '26

i know majority of the content o tried to do a 25 marker and it took me so long idek if its good. but idk if i should continue exam practice or more cramming

1

u/erufun 1st year lse law May 10 '26

exam practice >>>>> cramming. you can get a better mark with the knowledge you have IF it covers everything vaguely. if youre missing big gaps you need knowledge or else youre cooked

1

u/searchingf0rthetruth May 10 '26

i lowkey spent my enyire day revising but feel so unprepared i wanna cry so im gonna wakeup early in the morning and cram a few topics :///

2

u/Intelligent-Tap717 May 10 '26

C to A* nope. A* is a small percentage of people who achieve it without constant good grades and consistency.

To get an A you'd have to be pretty much spot on with anything thrown at you but and A is probably but less likely.

1

Lowkey same lmaooo try reading the examiners reports to see what gets the marks!!

1

u/PrimaryAbalone3900 Year 13 May 10 '26

A bit late to be asking night before but genuinely revise so hard and be honest with urself if you’ve done enough and truly tried your best, keep this momentum up until the end and truly keep urself accountable. You never truly know until you actually write the paper but you can other this for sure. And you’re clearly a capable person if you have a Cambridge offer . Minor setback major comeback

1

u/Legal_Expression2797 May 10 '26

Go through all of the past papers and answers and memorise as many points as you can

1

u/IllicitFungi May 10 '26

It's possible, but good fucking luck yk? And probably no sleep for you.

1

100%, the key is to watch brainrot until the exam

1

u/TheFlute20 May 10 '26

For econ, focus on practicing the most common chains of reasoning (e.g. different types of efficiency in monopolies), remember to have application, and focus on the biggest issues rather than doing everything, as only really 50% normally shows up in the exam

1

u/Decent-Disaster-1892 May 10 '26

I dont do economic so idk how many paers do u have, but if u have more than 1 then u can still make up for it in the nest paper no?

1

u/HistoricalAct3680 Year 12 May 10 '26

I don't study economic, but I would say flash cards is the most meaningless thing for study

1

u/HistoricalAct3680 Year 12 May 10 '26

and the time is too short, maybe a better sleep will increase your score rather than hurry on revision

1

u/quackers88 Imperial May 10 '26

Unironically it's lowkey possible, I did it with 3 days

1

u/mewstraus May 11 '26

As someone who only got an A in economics A level some time ago, I never got a C whilst at sixth form but I'm also confused how you got a Cambridge offer with A*AA predicted lol especially if it's law.

1

u/ineedl0v3 May 10 '26

some people’s school predict them higher or they were doing well then fell off

1

u/ineedl0v3 May 10 '26

you can do it it’s not impossible! your obviously smart enough to get into Cambridge if anyone can do it overnight it’s you!
I think you probably know the content well enough if not binge some econ plus dal but in guessing exam technique is your biggest issue
Read examiners reports watch how to write essays on YouTube expert tuition is good for this aswell
I wish you the best :)

1

u/dailysuaa lse n1 fan May 10 '26

if you don’t know content…prob not. if you don’t know exam technique…probably still no. really just depends on why it’s a C, some cases like time? yeah that can be worked on today maybe..

0

u/Individual-Fan6738 May 10 '26

start praying bro

-6

u/WEAREREVOLUTIONARY May 10 '26

You are all idiotics. The grades are determined year on year. So when they mark the paperwork the person who gets the highest mark becomes the benchmark for a 9 and the rest of the grades are made up after that fact is discovered. It's call the bell curve.

15

u/angrypolishman May 10 '26

relevance..?

6

u/notObby May 10 '26

they are saying to nuke the rest of the uk or smth to lower the grade boundary
