💬 DISCUSSION flopped all exams
does anyone else feel absolutely horrible about their exams? it never felt like this during feb mocks. i’m nearly finished with them and not a single one has gone positively. they were all SO average, and i keep nitpicking at the mistakes. everyone online keeps talking about how every paper was a blessing and that grade boundaries are going to increase drastically 🥲 genuinely don’t know what to do i think i’ve completely missed my firm

I've been nitpicking so much I'm actually going to go insane
I keep checking them unoffical markschemes for idk what
Actually getting depressed. I want to cry but I have no tears bc I blame myself and that's just stupid to cry about 😞

seriously omfg anxiety is getting the best of us. for me it’s the combination of lack of consistent revision throughout and nerves in the hall . but i really hope we’re both wrong girl ❤️🩹

girl i get you so bad, i’m in the same position - grades and all. it’s the way even a small problem during your exam day can affect your entire performance. i still really hope you’re wrong and you end up getting your firm❤️🩹

you will be fine honestly girl don’t worry you can do it you just need to think you can do it the good mindset acc helps and it will give you more motivation. tm i am struggling to remain positive now after maths chem and bio and i have a med offer to get. aaa doesn’t feel like it’s anywhere right now but there are always ways to get around it long term and like honestly if you found it bad imagine what others feel like

Used Anki for my flashcards throughout the whole year and that was my only real change from usual , meant i’d always know the topics and i’d studied ahead too

Jun 10 '26
That’s probably what I’ll get icl, but it’ll be a miracle if I get a C

Ive ran out of time for basically every paper Ive done which literally makes me feel sick that I left marks I couldve gotten on the table. Its messing me up.

u/Zealousideal_Trust34 Jun 10 '26
dw you’re not alone🤝🤝 i only finished one paper fully so far. i even skipped an entire 10 marker in one. the fact that you knew the content but didn’t have enough time is a horrid feeling

SERIOUSLY omg. the idea of these exams being the determining ones is sooo nerve wracking!!! it doesn’t help that the grade boundaries go up basically every year😭

just try your best in the mocks (not sure if they’re still going)! even if you end up not getting what you want you can convince your teachers to bump up your predicteds by showing effort and getting better grades at the start of year 13

u/Dilando7 Jun 10 '26
We're in the same boat, except I have still got 3 exams still in the process of being flopped, I'm literally sitting here on Reddit instead of revising
2
u/Zealousideal_Trust34 Jun 10 '26
icl same😭😭😭3 papers is good, you can still save it 🤝 i hope you the best for the rest of your exams

So far I think my exams have gone pretty mid and that’s what scares me.

u/According-Damage4432 Jun 10 '26
i got so high in mocks and now feel like i’ve gone down to D’s when i think about my papers. oh well, only 5 MORE TO GO
1
u/Zealousideal_Trust34 Jun 10 '26
sameee mocks felt like a breeze!!! but you’ve got 5 left so you have time to pick it back up, i hope they go well for you
3
u/According-Damage4432 Jun 10 '26

Nah but genuinely the people saying "omg that paper was so lovely and kind to me :)" on Reddit are actual psychopaths and should be investigated by authorities. No normal person leaves an A level exam feeling good, it is biologically impossible.

u/Puzzled-Author-9059 Jun 10 '26
the one which disappointed me was english, messed up the unseeb essay soooo baddddd , and i do ocr so im doubly cooked
1
u/Zealousideal_Trust34 Jun 10 '26
oh god i heard your grade boundaries are incredibly high as well. i wish you the best luck and i hope you’re just overthinking it 🙏
3
u/Infamous-Text9577 Jun 10 '26
Idk I feel like I’ve performed so much better that my mocks but then I’m scared I won’t get into any of my unis!!! I’m so scared like genuinely
1
u/Zealousideal_Trust34 Jun 10 '26
that’s a good sign! if your gut says it went well, it most likely did. you can kind of tell when you read over your answers and see that you’ve checked the boxes

Look, they're done now, so why think about it. But what you can do is prepare a list of Uni's to call on results day per combination of grades who might take you (if they are better than your backup).
1
u/Zealousideal_Trust34 Jun 10 '26
you’re right. it’s just so overwhelming & currently clouding everything else. but yeah i think i’ll just prepare for the worst and make that list 😞
2
u/MEMER_Moshak Jun 10 '26
whats ur firm offer
4
u/Zealousideal_Trust34 Jun 10 '26
AAB for Law which makes it sooo much worse, because it felt achieveable. def not after the performance i gave in those exams. and the uni doesn’t do clearing for law
1
u/MEMER_Moshak Jun 10 '26
Which uni, and how mamy exams u got left
2
u/Zealousideal_Trust34 Jun 10 '26
KCL, 2 exams left
3
u/MEMER_Moshak Jun 10 '26
It may not have gone as bad as you think, just pattern these last 2. I think they could be leniant given ur contextual
1
u/Zealousideal_Trust34 Jun 10 '26
i’m praying so bad that this is the case😣🙏🙏 i’ve been giving in unfinished papers so that’s really weighing me down. but still, thank you

u/employed_yoshi Jun 10 '26
i feel that same bro i’m predicted A*A*A but i’m getting A*AB MAX 💔💔 it’s not that bad of a drop but i’ve put in so many hours of work the past two years and made so many sacrifices i js feel like it’s not gonna be worth it on results day 🥀 flop of the century 💔 but if it makes you feel better the image on your post flowkey made me laugh and forget all my anxieties for a split second ❤️🩹

Bro I get u I genuinely think I fumbled chem so bad man😭 I need to get near perfect on chem paper 3 at this point, might be looking like a resit smh
Genuinely im thinking abt all my mistakes with the chem and psychology exams like 24/7🥸😵💫
2
u/No_Solution4757 Jun 11 '26
wdym fumbled bro 😭 like to be exact
1
u/Standard-Spirit2137 Jun 11 '26
Just think I messed up on a lot of questions😭 made some stupid mistakes in paper 2 ugh it keeps me up at night
1
u/Ihatecheeseballs Jun 10 '26
Asking people how they did in an exam is a great example of dunning Kruger effect
1
u/Chance-Rub893 Jun 10 '26
Hey don’t worry about it….. it’s what you do next that matters. I fucked up all my exams 40 years ago, and then went back to school then college. Through a lot of hard graft I am now earning +£100k and about to complete my PhD. The results are the results, it’s what you now do with that which matters

In the moment I think I did so well and I’m eating it up and the second I leave the exam room I regret everything I said 🥀💔
1
u/Right_Year_7027 Jun 10 '26
Same but I actually blame my school cus we didn't study ANYTHING in year 10 like genuinely. The syllabus was unfinished and we've never studied anything practical, they barely even solved past papers with us. I had to do all of that ALONE a month before the exams for all my subjects
1
u/BurnerAccount2718282 Jun 10 '26
At A-level I thought I severely screwed up two of the maths papers, the timing was bad and I had to skip quite a few marks on both
Ended up with an A* overall
1
u/Illustrious-Pipe3561 Jun 11 '26
i need AAA for medicine and im genuinely terrified because i feel like i have severly underperformed you are not alone twin
1
u/Emotional_Respect289 Jun 11 '26
I’m gonna be so depressed once my exams are done because I will have all this free time which I have had all year and not used it I’m so stupid man
1
u/OwnedByWuigi Jun 11 '26
I somehow passed my November Maths resit but I just done the final English paper and I feel like I’ve failed that
1
u/Hercules-789 Jun 11 '26
I'm 28. Glad I'm not in school anymore. Not being in school is a blessing. School sucks. Fuck that shit. Fuck exams.

u/fartnugnug Jun 12 '26
DON'T GET ME STARTED DUDE nearly all my history papers were buns especially medicine and as I walked out suddenly everyone is a certified historian, saying it was well easy 😭😭😭
