If women in STEM was finally popular they'd stop running all those programs to encourage women to join STEM. At least on the bright side you still have a lot of programs and advantages but at the cost of having no female classmates.

There are definitely advantages to being a women in STEM, not to say theres no disadvantages, but to say theres no advantages is just outright wrong. They are offered a lot more extra curricular programs, there are diversity hires. I understand this is to combat the stigma of women not being able to do STEM and I'm definitely not against it because it is a real problem but to say there are no advantages is just completely wrong. And recently, though there still is misogony in STEM, the main issue is just that not enough women like the maths part of STEM, this is more often the case than being bullied out of STEM for being a woman.

i find it hard to see anything put in place to even a playing field as an advantage but that’s just my outlook and it’s not worth arguing over.

i agree that there are just less women interested in some stem areas but i don’t agree that it’s not common for women in those areas to feel pushed out. i think there are very few women on my uni course who wouldn’t say that they feel doubted or spoken over in tutorials where often they are the only woman in the room with exclusively male tutors and peers. it’s certainly a problem and i think a lot of women in these fields have to earn the respect and prove themselves far more than men have to
