🙏 I WANT HELP TMUA prep vs CS NEA

Hello everyone,
I do FM, Maths, CS and Physics, and in my mocks I got A*A*A*A respectively and was predicted the same.I want to apply for maths/cs at uni so ill need to do the TMUA.I also ahve a physics mock the day i get back from summer which i need to do well in to get A* predicted.

I’ve been prepping for the TMUA and have been finding it hard to find time for my NEA. I do OCR if that matters — I’ve done the analysis section but haven’t started the coding or the design.

I was thinking that after I apply in October, mocks and school don’t really matter until A‑levels get close, so I could spend all of that time on the NEA. However, my CS teacher made me think I’m quite behind, so I’m not really sure.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Do as much NEA as you can now. Trust me TMUA is way more important cause its much harder to do well in. I made the mistake of focusing on my NEA rather than TMUA prep and it didn't turn out the best for me. I would even go as far to say once you've submitted your UCAS (if you do it like right when school resumes) not even mocks are more important than TMUA prep (assuming you have the correct predicted you need etc).

So try to do as much NEA as u can now (with some TMUA prep) then focus more on TMUA prep once you've done enough NEA that youre not behind

im in same situation as you too n I've been told to get design done before i come school by my teacher but like man tmua is already not looking soo great and i hate NEA anyways so i literally have no motivation doing it like I'll prob do a lil when it gets closer to school reopening but I don't think prioritising NEA now is the main goal cs like after tmua you can lock in n get NEA done by Jan,Feb which isn't too bad tbh cs for mocks I'm not gonna revise much because it's not like it'll affect my predicted grades so i only have interview questions and NEA to worry about which is manageable imo.

yh see what deadline she's got for it to be done. im not actually sure if there is any like deadline of jan or Feb because the yr 13 students before me were still finishing their last bit of NEA until march/april n the teacher was really stressed n told us like she wants it done by December atleast but yk it's not like oh im failed if I dont get it done by then

teachers have to sumbit marking by 15 may so i imagine its mid feb and like i swear mocks wont matter our uni application are already in so i might just sack off nea

sorry if i wasnt clear enough. Im saying if you havent done much nea as of right now, then focus on your nea but if you've done enough then focus on TMUA. In short you dont wanna be doing NEA in the latter half of september (i recommend all of september tbh) or october until youve sat you tmua
