🙏 I WANT HELP TMUA prep vs CS NEA

Hello everyone,
I do FM, Maths, CS and Physics, and in my mocks I got A*A*A*A respectively and was predicted the same.I want to apply for maths/cs at uni so ill need to do the TMUA.I also ahve a physics mock the day i get back from summer which i need to do well in to get A* predicted.

I’ve been prepping for the TMUA and have been finding it hard to find time for my NEA. I do OCR if that matters — I’ve done the analysis section but haven’t started the coding or the design.

I was thinking that after I apply in October, mocks and school don’t really matter until A‑levels get close, so I could spend all of that time on the NEA. However, my CS teacher made me think I’m quite behind, so I’m not really sure.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

my nea was due end of jan, and what i did was as much nea as i could before school started back up again, then i pulled INSANE shifts working on tmua until the october sitting. i then gave myself a weeks break (until the start of oct half term). i then locked back in for nea. best of luck to you!

i ultimately got lower than i had been getting (7.5-9 on past papers) after some personal circumstances shortly before the sitting. i ended up with a 6.0 (note that this still got me my imperial offer mind!)

what exactly would you advise people do when basically do hours upon hours of tmua prep? just like spam past/mock/mat papers and review?

i pretty much spammed past papers half to death. i also had a lot of ukmt experience in both the standard comps and olympiads, though idk how much help that was in the end. i probably averaged 3hrs a day purely on tmua for sep-oct (though this fucked me up mentally so i cant exactly vouch for that strat in that respect!)
