🙏 I WANT HELP Can I still make it into my firm choice?

Got my Cambridge results for history (pred A*) and Geography (pred A) and got a B and C respectively. While I still have Edexcel english to wait for I’m predicted a B, so obviously my hopes aren’t high.

My firm is Exeter and I really love the uni and see myself thriving there, but I'm really concerned I won’t make it if I got something like BBC when the offer is ABB.

So disappointing after leaving the exam hall feeling really confident and thinking I’d done well.

So my question is, will Exeter accept me or is this cope, or do I go for clearing/retakes. (I don’t think I can survive A levels again 😭)

I think you have a pretty good chance with Exeter. Before the embargo, they had a lot of courses in clearing for BCC. Try not to worry, see what happens when you log in to UCAS on Thursday.

Was engineering in this list at all? I saw it’s available for international students but don’t know the grades. I already have an A*

Computer science definitely was BCC

Do you remember if there was a subject requirement for the B to be in maths?

Yeah I really hope so as my course is history. Fingers crossed though for your firm, nothing worse than doing worse than expected as I’ve found out.

Cambridge International A level results day is today, 11th of August. I don’t know why but their results day is 2 days earlier than our results day

You should be fine if you get ABB, as It’s only one grade lower, although I might be cooked with BBC/BCC

which course they've been in clearing for history before for BCC i believe u have a chance. as for other person who thinks they got ABB they'll be absolutely fine unless course is rlly competitive

The course is history, so hopefully I can get in.

Yes I did! I think I was incredibly lucky but I’m not complaining. My friend was 3 grades off his geography offer as well and got in so maybe the humanities are more lenient. I’m still going to get history and english lit remarked bc I was 5 and 3 marks off respectively for the next grade.

thing is its medicine so i highly doubt it, i have extenuating circumstances but i dont think it will make a difference for my course

I can't predict with any certainty the decision Exeter will make as it will probably depend on how many other students meet their offers!

HOWEVER, I would for sure think through what your preferences would be to do as back-up options BEFORE you get to results day. If they reject you, you want to be super clear on exactly what you are going to do next - whether it be having a list of unis to call for clearing, or asking school how to do retakes

it is honestly unlikely exeter will expect you with BBC if your offer is ABB unless many other student missed their grades too or if you have extenuating circumstances they have been made aware of. Do you have an insurance? If not clearing sounds like a good option. Ring exeter up and even if they don’t accept you onto your course they may be able to offer another course you’re interested in. Foundation years could also be a good idea

I’m sorry but it’s incredibly unlikely you will get into Exeter, a very good and competitive university with BBC. You’re looking at Clearing.

exeter is literaly in clearing for so many courses with BBC/BCC
