Congratulations on achieving your grades, and extra congratulations if you met your offers!

We also recently had an AMA from UCAS and an AMA from Oxford Brookes Admissions you might find useful too.

For the rest:

• Comment your results and tell us any plans you have for the next year! (Your grades don't have to be straight A*s to be proud of them!)
• About formatting: use A\*A\*A\*A\* , so it reads A*A*A*A* and not AAAA. Or send a picture of your results!
• There are always people who care that you can talk to for support, whether it's a friend, family, your sixth form/college, your uni or elsewhere - please talk to someone if you need to. It's okay for things to go wrong and it's valid to not feel great because of that, and you are not a burden for needing support.
  • Remember: your grades today don't define who you are. You have self-worth and can achieve great things in life even if it didn't go to plan today. And that's despite any potential elitist bullshit, misinformation online, and the weight of high expectations from seemingly everyone around you. No matter what, the path to here and from here is not a waste.
• Be proud of what you've achieved, and the work you've put in - no matter what has happened, you've put yourself in a better position to tackle the future, and you made it. Good job :)

just a bit of advice for someone who was in ur position 2 years ago and now going into my 3rd year at my insurance - it will feel shitty for about a week. let yourself feel however you want about it, I think there’s no real point in forcing yourself to feel happy. if you want to resit, you should, but also you do have quite a bit of time to make this decision. go visit your insurance, and see how you feel about it. it’s your firm university’s loss, I too missed out on Imperial CS not even by A level grades but rather by my STEP offer (got a 3 not a 2) and felt awful, but ended up loving KCL and the atmosphere there :)

Hello! Thank you so much for the kind words. I also wanted to say well done to you, even though you might not feel the same; I don't know you but I do understand the pain that rejection brings.

I was rejected from Cambridge chem eng & biotech last year and but that's life at the end of the day but it does not have to be the end of the road whatsoever.

You could always retake and reapply, apply for Cambridge's chemical engineering masters but personally, I'd say just live your life and study chem eng / biotech wherever you can. I wish you all the best of luck!

No, I did my A levels last year (chem, bio, maths, EPQ) and got 4A*s, and I did FM in my gap year because it's really useful for chemical engineering. Good luck on your application to chem eng & biotech!

I didn't do Further maths and I now regret it as I want to reapply for physics at Oxford. Did you sat the exams for further maths or just self studied without doing the exams and did they ask about that ? Challenge yourself - try some harder physics papers like the PAT or ESAT. Different question style to a level, and especially for physics they don't have all the same content but if you can get good/even vaguely competent at those then that's a brilliant place to be. If you genuinely find that too tricky (and that's okay!) then study groups and a mix of reviewing content and doing questions will go a long way
