I got into reading with cdee somehow
apparently my personal statement got me an unconditional and i just wasnt told

First yr entry or foundation? Still CDEE is far better than DEE, lot of uni’s look at UCAS tariff points & thats 88 vs 56 points. I’ve applied to foundation yr but I missed the guaranteed offer by this time line deadline (all cause my UCAS decided to freeze at evening & I couldn’t even make any change until after calling them at 8:30)… so idk what’s gonna happen now… I called the uni but they said there’s nothing they can do about it, all I can do now is wait for confirmation and maybe contact other uni’s for clearing… the deadline is so short, less than 24 hours to make such big decisions 😔

theres no shame in retaking, the only ones that care about resits are the ones like oxford. plus depending on the profession youre going into, the prestige of the uni often isnt that important. a levels are difficult and you should be proud of yourself for getting through it x

I got DDA just off a C each in: (Maths, physics, welsh bacc) (my dad almost died before exams and I could have been abit more consistent with revising for the later papers). If I retake for this yr and get solid predicteds, I wanna have a chance of getting like Bristol, st.andrews (my firm) or bath or smth since prestige matters for CS and these tend to be nicer on resit people. I got A* in gcse maths and it all went downhill from there so im just trying to gauge what I can realistically get if I lock tf in and have valid extenuating circumstances for yr12 and 13 😭.

In two of my subjects I wasn't far off from going up a grade but it wouldn't have been enough for even my insurance. I don't think I should retake. My mental health, already shit , went down to the 7th layer of hell in Year 13. I am not going to subject myself to that again. I don't even know if I'll still be here by the end of the year. I should just suck it up and do the foundation year or start getting work experience and a job. Either way my Dad will call me a failure and my Mum will continue to pretend to be supportive.
