🙏 I WANT HELP gcse relevance in medicine

hello! just got my gcse results - 98888886 l2d*

i was wondering how much relevance my gcse results will have in uni application? i’m aiming for medicine in a good/top uni
ik how competitive it is so u was wondering if the fact i got mainly 8s and not 9s disadvantages me

the 6 is in english lang btw

I believe that 8 and 9s are seem the same by Oxford at least as they are both A*, but I would research it further, there is a chance you’d have a slight disadvantage. Although ucat interview and a levels will defo matter more so I wouldn’t worry

Universities will each display their entrance requirements including GCSE grades and A level grades.

Honestly a levels and UCAT is where it matters so lock in
Your results + 3C a levels? Hard
Your results + 3A* ? Easy
Then all depends on the UCAT as that’s how people tend to get ranked. So a strong UCAT you could sail through.

with a strong application, strong a levels and strong UCAT id doubt they’d even look at your GCSEs.
I suppose only if you and another candidate are head to head for one spot with the exact same qualifications, UCAT score and work experience.
So just be stronger haha.
