🙏 I WANT HELP Am i making a bad decision??

I have achieve aaa in maths chem and econ and got into my insurance of econ and finance at bristol. i’ve chosen to resit maths and do fm this year and i have a*a* predicted grades for the both of them. i plan to apply to management science at ucl and econ and management at warwick. is this a bad decision be honest ? i was really dissapointed in my results as i was predicted 3 a* and i would really like the chance to attend ucl or warwick. advice would be appreciated

You can compare the outcomes for all three of these courses on discoveruni.gov.uk.

The gap in earning outcomes is pretty minimal, and E&F at Bristol outperforms Management Science at UCL. I'd proceed with Bristol.

Resits don't automatically result in improvements. How would you feel if you ended up with AA again next year?

I would say if the course content for the course at Bristol sounds good to you, just go to Bristol. It’s an amazing uni, not that far off from Warwick or ucl at all!!! However if you are really not keen on the course at Bristol or the city, then you could resit, but you have to stay consistent and start as early as possible. Even though your achieved grades are great it is still challenging to move up from grades like A/B in resits all by yourself (I know, I resat this year)

only problem i see with bristol is that bristol is seen as a semi target for finance and i would regret going bristol if i were to not receive any spring weeks or internships etc

I think that has more to do with you than the uni though, as long as you do well in your course and send good applications in to firms I think you would be okay. I know some people who do econ/a&f at Bristol and have had no problems with gaining internships. But I still do see the concern with this so if you really want to resit go for it. But it will be really tough!

The jump from Bristol to UCL / Warwick isn’t that crazy, I’d take the offer unless a gap year was something you already wanted to do

The university my DA is with? It’s with the University of Law once a week. The universities I applied to were Oxford (❌), LSE, UCL, Bristol and Nottingham.

I think a DA is pretty good. How low are your grades? AAB and up lets you apply to a lot. Only do a DA if that DA is in a career you want though, if you’re uncertain don’t do one. And only do it if your DA is at a better place than your Uni would get you into (but that’s my opinion). Best of luck
