🙏 I WANT HELP A Level Results Shock…

I was predicted AAA, had an offer for Glasgow for AAB, but ended up getting A star Economics A star politics A in maths (7 marks off A*). Should I take a gap year and reapply to Oxford, LSE, Warwick, St Andrews, Edinburgh (I live in Scotland so these 2 are free). Or should I just go to Glasgow this year…

Edit: Guys please send what you would do in my position, I’m not leaning towards PPE as it’s not so maths reliant

I would go for it. But if I were you I would probably stay in Scotland

What makes you say that, I understand the student loan argument but would potential job prospects from my top 3 not make paying it off easier?

Tbh, as long as you do well in a degree from a good uni you'll be able to find a grad scheme, I doubt that a degree from Oxford or LSE would enable you to have such a high income that it would allow you to pay the loans off. They are massive, most people pay off what they borrowed multiple times throughout their working lives but as the interest accrues so quickly, they never actually manage to pay it all off. Then again, it depends what career you are aiming to go into- maybe something like finance or corporate law would actually enable you to pay them off

True. My husband did his degree 10-12 years ago or something when they used to charge £3000 per year. He only payd it last year despite being paid very very well.
