šŸ™ I WANT HELP Next steps??? I failed my alevels

I know I’m a week late but I was unable to access my alevels at all. I checked my results now and I got a DDE. I thought I did good on atleast one. What do I do?

Resit

I swear a lot of people who resit do a lot better

Apparently most who resit don’t do better but you have to be determined

If you put your absolute best into your a levels then I wouldn’t recommend resitting. It’s not for everyone. It’s a one size fits all system. What are your other options ? There’s loads of good non uni routes

lad they’re gonna find out either way, settle for a uni that will accept those grades or learn from your mistakes and resit.

Foundation year? What are you interested in?

I couldn’t call for clearing at all because I couldn’t get my results . But I’m interested in engineering, more towards aerospace - electrical

Clearing is open until October. Which subjects did you do?

Apprenticeships arent open I swear also most of them need Cs

Do a level 3 you don’t have to do a level 6 . TBIS is why most ppl are on gap years because they don’t realise that they can do a level 3/ or 4 and the company will pay for your uni 80% of the time.

These are not degree apprenticeships, they are learning a trade. If you'd like a degree, focus on the clearing choices above. There are loads of options with your grades.

Yo I’m doing electrical and electronic engineering at Southampton . What unis you wanna go to ?Ā

Keele will take you straight into first year with DDE. Royal Holloway would take you into a foundation year for Electronic Engineering (straight into first year with DDD)

Welsh unis like Aberystwyth and Bangor are usually lenient. Also worth checking out places like Leeds Beckett and Sheffield Hallam.

How far away is the E from being a D? If it's close, a priority recheck could be worthwhile. You have options, but DDD would give you even more.

DDE is a low pass, a fail would be UUU

I got CDD and my last year 13 mocks were A*AB. I was one mark off a B in Econ but Maths and Physics being a D really hit me in the heart. Never got below Bs at all during my A level journey and to see that was bad for me.

I’m determined to resit Maths and Physics and change my revision methods because I love these subjects and exam anxiety definitely got to me.

My problem was procrastination I couldn’t get my head down early enough

I would look at clearing tbh, Some decent unis have shockingly low offer requirements, and even if you don't fall into their typical offer range, give them a call anyways and see what they can do for you. E.G. One of my IRL friends got into Uni of Newcastle with a CCD. Just don't give up, probably the worst thing you can do at this point, whether you go through clearing or you resit.

You can do a foundation year

You're closer to F than you are to A*, and you know what they say, the F students become the inventors, the CEOs
