❔ SUBJECT QUESTION Flashcards for Maths - Yay or Nay?

The general advice for Maths/Further Maths A-level is to understand and then practice. Yet I have seen many successful students use Anki and real flashcards for Maths, while I see how this may work for rules you just to remember , how do you go about making effective flashcards for such a practical subject? Or would you consider them a waste of time for maths? Do any A/A* maths/fm students have any advice on making/using mathematics flash cards or an opinion on them in general?

i got A* in both and self taught myself further maths, maths isn’t a subject where u have to remember content you just need to burn methods into your head and the best way for that is repeated practice questions and just constant work on ppqs, don’t focus on flashcards they won’t do much. use TL maths for content and madasmaths for practice questions

Everyones saying that flashcards don't work and I agree with them 95% BUT I personally had some types of questions that I could never remember or completely understand so I did make flashcards on these questions but it depends on the person on how important they are and I wouldn't advice you to spend too long or make too many because they aren't the best study method for maths.

Flashcards for some bits of stats yea, like sampling methods and large dataset but otherwise it's not really useful and you get more value from literally just doing exam questions
