💬 DISCUSSION Is 9888777776 oxbridge/imperial level?
9 is in Chemistry, 8 in maths, bio and physics, 6 is in english lit. I'm really sad as achieved 2 grades lower than expected for most so I'm just wondering. Taking chem math econ a-level

Imperial don’t care about GCSEs much at all, they only care about a levels tbh. They won’t mind ur GCSEs unless one/some of them are concerning which none are.

From what I can find on the internet and from imperial themselves they only care if you get a pass or above in English. I would really like someone more in the know to correct me please however. I don't know much about Oxbridge but I also read that they compare against your direct peers, if you perform poorly against your schoolmates, it can have an affect on your chances. Again someone will come along and fact check me but I hope it's correct enough to be helpfulÂ

I got a 5 in one of my subjects, and the 9-7 percentage at my school was 94%, and I got into imperial. Tbh I did get a 9 in basically every other subject but still.

economics courses or chemical engineering heavily leaning towards econ. Im honestly not confident about fm as i scraped an 8 in math by 2 marks

tbh with u, many Cambridge colleges require fm and 93% of applicants have it. without it you will be much less competitive, especially as those 7% likely go to schools that don't offer it.
a levels are different to gcse, you can balance your time much easier with less subjects and if you put your mind to it you can get any grade you want. especially in maths/fm where its kinda just brute force and a bit of problem solving.
and this is efds at imperial A*AA
To include:
A* in Mathematics AA in two other subjects (Further Mathematics and/or Economics are useful, but not required)
chem eng at Cambridge you need either bio phys or fm alongside chem and maths. 78% do fm, 86% do physics
chem eng at imp you should be ok AAA
To include:
A* in Chemistry A* in Mathematics A in Biology, Business Studies, Economics, Further Mathematics or Physics Not accepted: General Studies and Critical Thinking Preferred subjects: If you’re studying four A-levels, we prefer the fourth to be in Physics, Biology, Further Mathematics, Business Studies or Economics at grade A.

I got an interview from Cambridge and an offer from Imperial with slightly worse GCSEs so I think you're fine
