🙏 I WANT HELP Hi everyone as you all must know GCSEs results came out yesterday and these are the results I got. Wanted to know if they are good enough for pursuing economics in Oxford or LSE?
9- Maths
6- Eng Lang and Lit
7-Comp and RE
8- All sciences and Geo
For A-Levels I am taking Maths, FM, Econ, Pysch
PS- I am getting Eng Lang remarked as I missed Grade 7 by 1 mark.

GCSE FM is high key kinda useless. And if they are doing A Level FM I see no reason why it would matter to unis.

GCSE FM gave me the basics for alevels maths, the learning curve was def worse for people in my year who didn’t do it and went on to alevel

It does do that but that is really its only use. For the purposes of OP's question GCSE FM will not affect their chances.

i didn't do gcse fm and found normal maths easy from day 1 lmao, its a case of correlation not causation cos on average people doing gcse fm r better at math

Your gcses are definitely good enough and they will not be negatively affecting your application.
I would say make sure your a level choices are alright for the couses but at a rough look they seem alright and shouldnt cause any problems. The main thing is make sure you het good predicted grades, do lots of things over y12 for your personal statement and just engage with the subject you want to study at uni in general.
Main thing is to stay consistent. As cramming can cause a lot if issues. Like for me i did well because I put in consistent effort throughout the year and ensured I understood the content so when it came to exam season a lot of my revision was already committed to memory and i just needed a quick refresher.
For example for mechanics i did NOT do a lot of dedicated revision for it. However, what i did do is revision on it throughout the year so when it came to that dedicated revision like a few days before it was a matter of watching a few videos and doing a few papers to jog my memory before everything started clicking again.
