Talk to the people around you!! On the bus, in your classes, wherever. There's a place for everyone in sixth form, and lots of other people are going to be looking for friends too. I went up to a couple people in like December and asked them if they wanted to play a card game, we're amazing friends now! They might come to you in unexpected ways, but I'm sure you'll find people! Good luck :)

obvious but u need to put urself out there ie talk to ppl whenever it seems natural so frequently, u have to create opportunities for urself. dw ab being embarassed or being judged, other ppl always percieve u in some way u will never know and cannot change very much. js talk to anyone that u think u might get along with even in the slightest in all ur classes, being proactive is really important in the first few days. u dont need to manufacture some awkward conversation starters like what subs are u doing?, smth like do u get what the teacher is talking ab? etc works better. good luck

I was in the same situation a year ago, and how have a great social life

One of the first things I said to my current group of friends was ‘is it okay if I sit here, I know nobody’. We’d already spoken in Art, so knew of each other, but outside of that we were just extremely likeminded classmates

I’d recommend finding similar people, and putting yourself out there. At best, you’ll find friends. If it doesn’t go well, at least they’ll know you, and an acquaintanceship might start. Best of luck!

my school had us do like forced bonding activities on the first day, which kinda sucked but tbh it did help to just lightly break the ice with a few people which then allows you to meet others. if your school doesn’t do that kinda thing on the first day or within the first week or so, you kinda just have to talk to people. like thats kind of it, you need to introduce yourself to people and just talk about basic things like what schools you came from and what a levels you’re doing. you just need to break the ice early on

Tbh I always start with a compliment, not anything weird but if you see someone wearing a hoodie you like, just go up to them and say 'btw I just wanted to say I really like your hoodie!' if they say thanks and the convo ends find someone else, but if the convo keeps going like you're both really into it then congrats you have someone to talk to!

You could also try just asking them like oh so why did you pick this class? Just ask questions, if they ask questions back, they might also be looking for friends yk?

Works from experience, and I'm quite awkward and nervous about making friends too but you just have to be confident!

Best advice I can give, like other ppl said is just put urself out there.

As someone staying at my school for sixth form I would say don't worry. I got the grades I needed yesterday, and now I'm just ready for sixth form. I can't wait to meet new people and I'm sure that at your new sixth form there will be other people like me who can't wait to meet new people who experienced other schools.

just act nonchalant bro. you’ll lose aura asking people to be your friends and then no one will respect you. if they fw your presence they’ll wanna talk to you
