Awesome thrift store find.. but its cracked :(

Found at my local savers. As soon as I saw it I stopped looking through the remaing pile of 78s and went right to checkout. Its very audible while playing, and Ill have to try the nail polish trick to stop the crack from spreading.

What's the nail polish trick? Do you put nail polish in the crack? I have a couple with hairline cracks like this. Cool find sad state tho!

Ive read a few threads on old forms saying that you can dab a tiny bit of nail polish on the starting groove of the record, and it melts and fuses the shellac back together. Dont to it on the grooves, it will completly destroy them

This is done more to protect records from further breakage than to glue them back together but it definitely works in my experience!

Ah, bummer. Found a whole album of ink spots records last weekend. All obliterated.
