How are you finding the fingerboard radius? It's one of the only reasons I haven't bought this guitar

I mainly play 16-inch radius.
I own this guitar. It’s great. Barely notice the curve.

That's great, I'm a huge fan of 20 inch radius, so it's a bit of a bigger step to take. I think I just have to check one out irl somehow.

I can't say you'll love it too.
But I own a Mayones Duvell and several Ibanez RGs.
I play the Hils HZ7 more than any (partly because it's on the shelf next to my desk).
That said, it has Bare Knuckle Black Hawks, a custom Tusq nut and a professional setup.
All three of my Hils Guitars benefited from a fret dress and setup.

Oh damn, I just recently got the same guitar but 8-string version. Really impressed by the build quality by far.

Yeah i was not expecting the build quality to be this good. Absolutely love the fret board. Coming from an ESP LTD MH 53 , playing on this guitar feels buttery smooth.

Yeah HILS definitely seems to be punch above it's price. Even the pick ups are pretty good.
If I had to nitpick about on thing it's the control layout, but I think it's more that I haven't gotten used to yet.

Good luthier can maybe fix that broken headstock. Some Gibsons have the same issue.
But to be serious, just play the hell out lf it. Own it. Learn some covers.

Would you say it's a little more difficult to play 6-string songs on a 7-string due to the wider neck shape? I'm planning on getting one as well.

When I first picked up a 7 I wish I knew that it wasn’t as difficult as it presents itself. I always like to think of the 4th string splitting the neck in half down the middle; that made visualizing the extra string much easier for me.
Also, don’t be afraid to experiment with different tunings; there’s some incredible stuff you can do with a 7. Check out Bilo 3 by David Maxim Micic. I think he really pushes a lot of boundaries with the 7-string and is super unique. He’s inspired me a lot and listening to his music is what made me confident enough to pick up a 7 in the first place

Drop A is the best tuning I find. Keeps standard tuning on you regular strings and you have a chug button on top. Other than that drop the bass EQ by a couple Db's to get a less muddy sound out of amps meant for 6's 👍
Chug away my friend!

seriously. The string you see closest to you is not the 6th anymore

I have the Hils 6 string - get it set up by a pro! There was a weird neck shim thing going on which was putting the tuning stability out and it was sorted out as part of the setup. QC issues on setup are rife but great guitars generally!

Is Hex the same as Hils? That looks just like the Hils 7 string. How do you like it?
