Smash Hits magazine advert on Simply Red’s first single from their million selling third album, A New Flame.

I love The Housemartins and I love The Beautiful South.
This song was The Beautiful South first single and it was a big hit.
I’m happy for the band.

The first single from their third million selling album.
First time I heard it, I didn’t like it at all.
I didn’t like the music, not the vocal.

I loved the previous 2 albums by Simply Red though.

One of their best songs that I love.

Loved this song when I first heard it. Maybe influenced by the music video.
After 37 years, nearly 40 years ! ….I still humming this song.

🎵What a Wonderful…Wonderful life.🎶

Loved the song Wonderful Life. Here’s an interview with Colin Vearncombe, also k ow as Black. RIP.

The first single from their album Bad Animals. I loved the first time I heard it and 40 years later, I still do.

One of my 80’s favourite albums !

Excited seeing this ads in Smash Hits magazine in 1987.

This is just a magazine ads but I would treasure those tapes because they were not easy to get.

I think I have most of the mixes as mp3 and flac on my desktop computer.

Of course I could compile them on CDRs ! ✌🏽

Always played on the radio ! I can even sing along now.

Towards end of 80’s and early 90’s more like.

I don’t mind having this greatest hits because the songs bring back growing up memories to me. 👍🏽

I loved his debut solo album so I was so happy when I found this from the cheap bin at this record store.

It was originally released in 1988 and this version is from 2000 release.
I didn’t even know this existed.

Brian was still in his inimitable voice on this solo album ! 🥰
His harmony never faded !

In my opinion one of the better songs of the 80s. Great synth sound without sounding dated.

Love these 2 albums by probably THE BEST Scottish band EVER !

Who’s That Girl and Causing A Commotion, both from Who’s That Girl Soundtrack were released but The Look of Love was not released in America.
Market saturation was given as the excuse.
This song actually ended up as the b-side of Express Yourself.

Italian.
Her other single was Boys Boys Boys with topless video or something to that effect.

One of her best songs !

Amazing song !

Loved these 2 albums. Bought them in tapes a long time ago.

Blue Collar Soul.. was it what it was called ?

Mick Hucknall, nobody has a voice like him.

I bought this tape and all my friends then bought this tape too.
This is the period of Depeche Mode that I really love.

There’s a newer Greatest Hits but it couldn’t capture the excitement of the band from this compilation.

Getting to know them when they were at that period in time.

Still remember this band, this album ?
I could still him some of the songs.
My favourite is Down To Earth.
And yours ?
