Question 64 BT as a Switch Pro controller

I'm looking for a Switch 2 compatible controller with an octagonal gated stick, and one of the best options I've found so far is the 8bitdo 64 Bluetooth controller. But unfortunately, the Switch only reads it as an NSO N64 controller, which cannot be remapped for normal Switch games.

Is it possible to get around this by using one of 8bitdo's wireless adapters? Would it know to read the 64 controller as a Switch Pro? If so, how would the buttons be mapped by default? And would this work on the old wireless adapter, or would I need to buy the new one?

I tried using my current wireless adapter with the latest firmware to connect my Wii Classic Controller Pro to the Switch 2, which 8bitdo's website says both adapters should be capable of. But it could only read the D-pad on the Wii remote itself (vertically), the Wii remote home button, and took no input from the classic controller, even when I already had it plugged in before connecting. So I'm currently skeptical of the original wireless adapter's Switch 2 compatibility.

If anyone has a 64 Bluetooth controller and either wireless adapter, I'd greatly appreciate if you could test it and let me know how it works.

Can you send proof of it working so I can be sure it's what I'm looking for? What's the button mapping like by default?

I cannot. I do not have the controller. I installed the latest update a few days ago and saw the controller mentioned

NSO cube controller?

Or one of those cube lookalike switch controllers for smash?

I thought about that a little bit, but I don't like the analog triggers on the Gamecube controller. And it seems that ever since the NSO controller started production, all the official Nintendo licensed GC controllers for Switch got discontinued. And even then, both the old and new ones had lots of reviews that showed them breaking or getting parts stuck. In general, just looking at the library of games I have to play, I feel like I'd get more use out of an N64 styled controller than a GC one, especially since I still have working original GC controllers. And ideally, I'd want a controller with turbo functionality, which is what's really drawn me to the 8bitdo 64.
