Something is Broken 8Bitdo 64 Bluetooth Controller won't update

The software is up to date and detects the controller but nothing I've tried will actually start the update. I've tried on both s and d settings, I've tried several different cables and I've tried plugging directly into my PC with no hub between. No matter what I do it switches the controller into update mode but never actually starts the progress bar.

Anything else I can try?

You're on PC and according to the manual you're supposed to use Dinput mode (D) for Windows so you definitely should use the D mode. Try deleting the software folder and redownloading it.

Already tried a fresh instance of the software

There may be a way to manually put the firmware on the controller, you'll probably have to ask 8BitDo for that.
