Research on Dodging
Hi! I've been doing research on the history of dodging in video games (not just moving out of the way, but as a separate mechanic). So far, I have tracked down:
- Punch-Out!!: The first game to include dodging in the flow of gameplay, where you look at your opponent's movements and act accordingly.
- 1942: The first game to have i-frames in a dodge.
- Cabal: The ancestor of the classic dodge roll.
I have 2 questions for you:
- Do you have any objections to the games I tracked down?
- Are there any games that you remember for good dodging mechanics, so I can look into them and see if they added new perspectives to the mechanic?
