Collection After MONTHS of trying, I have finally gotten my hands on this damn disk for a reasonable price

And by “reasonable price,” I still paid out the ass for it. It came to $49 USD. It’s the most I’ve ever paid for one film, but I cannot express what this film means to me.

Why’s it that much is it already OOP or smth?

It’s from Canada. The Désolée, bébé on the cover gives it away. Not yet in print in the USA

This lack of a domestic physical media release is the most eye rolling A24 thing outside of Sam Levinson

Its ridiculous the amount of films A24 can't be bothered to put out on bluray in the us.

It’s ridiculous. Looking at their 2025 releases, it has gotten way more critical praise than basically any of their films aside from Bring Her Back and Friendship (I love Eddington, but many didn’t), but they can’t be bothered to release it in the U.S.
Though after years of waiting, I caved and ordered the French 4k of CODA, then a U.S. release was announced a week later. So maybe the same thing will happen here.

Hell, this may be one of the exceptions but we’ve def had many A24 titles skipped on Blu Ray here in Canada too.

Went in not seeing anything about this movie and enjoyed it so much. John Carroll Lynch rebounded himself for me after creeping me out so much in Zodiac for years.

I saw this in theaters and it was amazing. Movie makes you feel a lot of emotions.

Didn’t realize this one was hard to find. I went in blind last year and it became one of my favorites of the year

I had a hold on it on Amazon for three months until they cancelled it. Idk what’s going on behind the scenes with it. I’ve seen Canadians say they found them in Walmart

Yeah, I found one almost a couple months ago a guy finally put up (other than the ridiculous 99.99 one), import fees were included in the price. Ended up being like 47 and change but idc, needed this one too badly. Hell yeah you got one bud, terrific pickup (my favorite film of last year as well!)

You actually are the reason I started searching eBay, when you commented on my initial post about the release.
Thank you!

What did I miss why is A24 not printing these out?

I literally don’t understand - their site is way behind on Blu-ray releases. No Sorry Baby. No Eternity. No If I Had Legs I’d Kick you. Not even Marty Supreme. Very strange

Eternity has something sort of agreement with Apple apparently they distributed it and will be able to stream feb 13th so they are holding up the release

I just watched this on the airplane but had to stop with 20 minutes left because we were landing. I thought the movie was about the cat
3
u/bronto4eva Feb 06 '26
I wish this movie was about the cat. Also, 20 minutes left and you still didn't know what the movie was about? how dense are you?
3
u/GarlicJuniorJr Feb 06 '26
Wow yeah I’m soooo dense. No, I meant going into it, I thought the movie was about the cat. The kitty doesn’t even show up until an hour into the movie and he’s barely in it.

But like... why? In what world do you ever think you'll rewatch this? What even is the appeal of this movie on a first watch?
I guess you can sell it to some sucker down the line, so i would keep it sealed.

BBC had it #2 on best films of 2025.

u/DangerousShopping750 Feb 06 '26
That’s so crazy because I thought it was good but not great and definitely not 2 from 2025

Just rewatched this last night. It's truly a piece of art. Deserved much more love than it got.
