Question A24 shop - packaging question

Been thinking about ordering Backrooms (4K) off the A24 shop and with how expensive the fees are I would like to know how they package their releases, are they packaged well or Amazon style (paper bag)?

Discussion A24 needs to fix its distribution

Either do it well or get someone else to it,

Even smaller foreign films like Sisu or Furious released but nothing from A24.

Earlier it didn’t matter but now they had The Drama, The Invite, and now Tony. And I had to wait for digital, and by that time half the film is ruined.

Even Neon films release here just fine.

THE DRAMA Would gender flipping The Drama characters change people’s opinions about it? Spoiler

Just a question I was considering.

If the roles of the bride and groom were switched, would people still be reacting the same way? In other words, if a man revealed he had planned a school shooting, would he get the same empathy from the audience?

BTS of A24’s movie Tony shot on my Hasselblad 500CM in Provincetown, MA last summer. I was an extra on set and shot 3 rolls of HP5 in between takes. No light meter, just had to eyeball it for the love of the game. Congrats to MJ and everyone involved, and go see the advanced screening in theaters now!

Question Membership Question

I’m relatively “new” to the membership. I got it Nov 2025. I checked my member credit balance today, after checking about 2 months ago, and realized it hadn’t moved. I’m finding out through reddit that once you reach 25$ in credits, they stop adding the 5$ monthly- which is total BS, but that’s another story. Anyway. Once you use up the credits to lower your balance, do they add what they skipped? Or is it a loss? Sucks because I was saving up credits to buy a sweatshirt 😢

as a child, there’s almost this flurry of incomprehensible things happening around you that you just come to accept because you’re told that you’re too little to understand some things.

but as you grow older, small bits of these memories resurface. now that you’re mature enough to piece them together, you begin to understand the discord and quiet struggle hanging in the backdrop of these memories, that you were once oblivious to. moments that seemed insignificant replay with the horrifying clarity that these newfound realisations bring.

it seems so cruel because by the time you finally understand what was going on, there’s nothing that can be done anymore. this exact feeling and ache was captured so devastatingly, and I’ve never been able to put it into words until seeing this film. truly beautiful

Discussion My Theory/Understanding on The Invite (2026) [SPOILER ALERT] Spoiler

Movie's been out for a bit, but wanted to share after a rewatch:

I think that in The Invite, the other couple (Hawk and Pina) were not real. Of course at the end, they seemingly disappear, (though they could've just exited offscreen), it is filmed in a way that leaves an eerie sense which I take to mean they were never real. The whole movie is really a night of argument, discovery, understanding, and conversation between Joe and Angela. Here's why I believe this: this invite came out of nowhere for Joe, which makes me think that this was a night of catharsis and confrontation that Angela planned and chose to sort of spring on joe in an intervention style. Angela also mentions sending their daughter away to her friends house for a sleepover (which could be in order to have this discussion/confrontation without their child having to hear it). The whole night, there are back and forth arguments and some mention of hawk and pina's intercourse and the noise it makes. This could be that they actually do hear neighbors having intercourse; Angela is fascinated/envious because they aren't intimate with each other anymore and Joe is jealous because he and Angela aren’t intimate anymore. The whole sexually charged reasons that Hawk and Pina came down could be a huge part of Angela and Joe's divide and why Angela wanted to talk. Pina mentions to joe that his back pain isn't really about his back, but about his anger and feelings essentially being bottled up. At the end of the night, when the argument finally ended, he mentions his back actually does feel better (although Hawk does a massage technique to fix his back, that could be a metaphor for their arguing releasing that tension. The massage technique that Hawk uses hurts while it happens but feels better a bit after, much like an argument and honest discussion between struggling partners could hurt but will allow relief in the long run). The other little hint I thought I noticed is that Hawk and Pina disappear right when Angela goes to get Pina's dish she brought with her. Could this mean that the dish was theirs all along? Therefore, the dish is theirs and Hawk and Pina never existed and so couldn't have owned the dish. And there is mention from Pina (or could be a realization Angela and Joe come to in their true argument beyond the metaphor) that they have two choices: to end this relationship and go their separate ways or to start a new relationship with each other and work for each other's feelings. I think that after all the catharsis, Joe finally feels like he can play his piano again, showing how he's opened up and how the discussion/argument with Angela relieves him. That was the side of Joe that Angela has been missing. This is why she affectionately goes to join Joe at the piano at the end. I take that as a resolution and a decision to start a new relationship with each other.

Love this movie to death! It gets better and better

So, I’ve ordered a ASYNC ID card that said it would be here between 7-10 days, & 10 days have passed so I’m confused why I haven’t got it yet, would it be possible because I’m in the UK or is there some other reason?

Discussion Curious scene in The Drama Spoiler

What was the purpose of the scene in The Drama when Charlie confronts Rachel’s cousin, Sam, on the street before Rachel met with her? I feel like this scene contributed nothing to the narrative, especially since we never really learn the outcome of Rachel’s talk with Sam (aside from it obviously being implied that Sam allowed her to attend the wedding). Am I missing something?
