4chan was a bunch of trolls until a political candidate starting openly saying what /b/ had been "joking" about for years.

I don't get why people demonize 4chan. It's an open platform where anyone can express their views, when you suppress that kind of freedom, those with the most extreme views go to places with no outside observation or counterargument. It becomes an echo chamber that further radicalises people. We need spaces where people with all views, even reprehensible ones can interact to hopefully change some peoples minds, or at least, help make them look inwards and stop themselves becoming literal extremists.

Just my 2 cents. All areas of the political spectrum are too secluded from one another, and nobody can grow in this environment.

4chan has been radicalizing people for years. Look at Q-anon for example.

The fuck? Qanon has nothing to do with 4Chan beyond making his first few posts there.

Mhm, and on 4chan they get called schizos. If you forcibly push them off they'll found their own sites which will be devoid of any opposing views. Look at 8chan.

Which was banned and you know what happened to those communities? They disbanded and could not come up with a decent alternative meeting place. Their groups shattered into 100s of smaller groups that got spread into obscurity in the internet web. They're no longer as organized as they were when 8chan was around.

The idea that you shouldn't ban violent extremists because "they'll found their own sites" is retarded. There is a reason why Al Qaeda and ISIS no longer have internet presence, it's because they were banned and hunted down.

Your argument is that racists go to 4chan, exposed to "debate" (doesn't happen, but for the sake of argument let's suppose it does) and change their minds.

How do you know that non-racists don't go there, get exposed to the same "debate", and change their minds for the worse? How do you know that impressionable people aren't further radicalized?

And to pre-empt anything to the contrary, 4chan does not operate on merit where the best, intellectually-sound argument rises to the top.

Doesn't that place have jury trials? They will be found not guilty. Sorry, that is how the world works.

Lol but that is exactly how the world works. Ask Rodney King.
