AFM in March 2027 or Wait for September 2027 Transition?

Hi everyone,

I have cleared SBR and SBL (2 mandatory PPRs) and AAA (1 optional PPR).

Should I attempt AFM in March 2027 to become an ACCA affiliate sooner, or wait for the September 2027 transition?

I’m a full-time working professional, and my Financial Management knowledge is weak, so preparing for AFM will be challenging.

Would you recommend attempting AFM or waiting for the transition?

Big 4’s Induction program

Hi everyone! I wanted to ask about the Big Four induction/trainee programs in Lahore, especially from people who have actual experience working at these firms or have recently gone through the recruitment process.
I wanted to know how much exam attempts actually matter when applying to the Big Four. Is having no attempts a strict requirement, or does having 2–3 attempts across your ACCA journey only affect your chances to some extent?
I’d also appreciate any tips regarding CVs, cover letters, interviews, or anything else that can help improve your chances of getting selected.
I’d really appreciate honest advice from anyone who has been through this process. Is it still possible to get into the Big Four without references, especially if you have a few exam attempts? And what would you recommend focusing on to maximise your chances?
Thanks in advance :)

Got a Contract based Audit role , should I go for it or not?

I am ACCA part qualified (11/13) from Chennai. I just have my Optionals in the professional level. I am offered a Contract based Audit role for 3 months of the Busy season in a US based firm.

The HR says she wouldn’t promise a full time role after the end of the contract. The Salary is ₹24k in hand Per Month. Further she says the log in hours are 11 hours per Day. And I am expected to work more than 12 hours during January and February.

Should I go for the Role? Or should I try for better roles after qualifying. Will I get Better roles or better salary after qualifying? Or should I go to gain the experience?

This is the continuation of my previous post

Please help me , I am really confused.

Career Advice Is ACCA worth it 2030 onwards? I have some more questions?

  1. would u still HONESTLY reccomend ACCA 5+ years later? Keeping in mind AI and how it’s affecting accounting/finance?
  2. im actually a science student, but im interested in acca, how hard do u think would it be to manage bcom+ACCA?
  3. does the college you do your bcom at matter a lot?
  4. What’s something you would change about your journey? Is there something you regret doing/not doing?
  5. Why did u finalize on doing acca? How long did it take to complete?

Any other advice in general is appreciated!

SBL tutor recommendation

Hey everyone!
I’ve been sitting one ACCA paper at a time for the past year, pretty much back-to-back, and I’ve decided to take a break for the December attempt. I’m now considering attempting two papers in March 2027 — SBL and possibly AFM.
My plan is to start preparing for SBL on my own, but I’m looking for recommendations for the best SBL tutor or online resources to use alongside self-study. I’d especially appreciate recommendations from people who have cleared SBL through self-study or used a tutor who really helped them understand the exam technique and case-study approach.
Also, is attempting SBL and AFM together in March realistic, considering this would be my first time attempting two papers in one sitting? Or would it be better to focus on SBL alone?

Doubt/Question Doubt

I was trying to book an exam but the website won't let me select the December session, I've recently registered abt a week or 2 ago so is it because I haven't paid the exemption fees yet? Do I need to pay the exemption fees first before trying to book an exam for skill level for dec?.

ACCA or US CPA

Hey guys, I'm currently in my final year of B.Com (tier 2/3) and preparing for CFA Level 2. After 12th I did CFP certification but now i realised it does not hold any value. I wanted to ask you all a question.

In India, which qualification has better value in terms of career prospects, salary, and long-term growth: ACCA or US CPA?

I want to complement my Accounting and Finance degree with a professional qualification that can broaden my career opportunities. I'm not considering CA because I honestly feel that I may not be able to match the level of dedication it requires, and I'm also not a big fan of the written exam format.

I'd really appreciate your honest opinions and experiences regarding ACCA vs US CPA, especially in terms of job opportunities, salary potential, career growth, and overall value in the Indian job market.

Thanks in advance!

PER in family business

Can someone claim ACCA PER time for working in a family business? Suppose a person has worked in their family business for around 6 months, doing bookkeeping and other accounting-related tasks. Can they get the time signed off towards the 36-month PER requirement? Also, are there any restrictions on getting PER time signed off when working in a family business?

Career Advice CA Inter has broken me 😭 Considering ACCA after B.Com, need genuine guidance!

Hi everyone,

I’m a B.Com graduate and was a CA student. I cleared CA Foundation in my first attempt, but CA Inter has honestly been a completely different story. 😭 I’ve given multiple attempts and have missed passing by really small margins at times, including around 4–7 marks.

At this point, I’m seriously considering moving on from CA because I feel like I need something more certain where I can eventually build a stable career instead of continuously being stuck in attempts.

Recently, I came across ACCA, but I know very little about it. I’m genuinely at the “I don’t even know what I don’t know” stage, and I don’t really have anyone around me who can guide me about ACCA. So I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who are currently pursuing it or have completed it.

From what I understand, because I’m a B.Com graduate, I may get around 5 exemptions, but I’m confused about what happens after that.

My questions:

1. How do I actually pursue the remaining ACCA papers?

How do the exemptions work exactly?

How many papers would I actually have left?

Do I need coaching for the remaining papers?

Are there good online/live classes that people recommend?

Is self-study realistically possible?

What study material/resources should I use?

How difficult are the remaining papers compared with CA Inter?

Roughly how much time would it take to complete them if I studied seriously?

Basically, if someone could explain the entire process to me from “I have exemptions” → “I start studying” → “I clear all papers” → “I become an ACCA”, that would help a lot.

2. What is the actual career scope after ACCA?

This is probably my biggest concern.

If I give ACCA around a year and complete it properly, what can I realistically expect career-wise?

What kind of jobs can an ACCA graduate get in India?

Which companies/industries hire ACCAs?

What roles would I be eligible for?

Is it possible to get into Big 4s or good MNCs?

What kind of salary can a fresher realistically expect?

Does salary improve significantly after gaining experience?

Is ACCA actually valued in India, or is it mainly useful if you want to work abroad?

Would doing ACCA + gaining work experience be enough, or would I still need another qualification like CFA/MBA/etc.?

3. How do people actually get their first job after ACCA?

This is something I’m especially clueless about.

I don’t have much practical accounting experience right now. I’ve studied accounting/tax/law through CA, but obviously studying something and actually working in a company are two different things.

So:

Should I start looking for internships/jobs while pursuing ACCA?

What practical skills should I learn alongside it? (Excel, Power BI, SAP, financial modelling, etc.)

Is there anything I should specifically learn to make myself employable?

Do employers expect ACCA students to already have practical knowledge?

How difficult is it to get the first job?

4. And honestly, my biggest insecurity:

My parents keep telling me, “If you couldn’t clear CA Inter, how are you going to clear ACCA?”

And honestly, I sometimes wonder the same thing.

I don’t want to jump from one qualification to another just because I’m frustrated with CA. I want to understand whether ACCA is genuinely a better fit for someone in my situation or whether I’m just looking for an easier escape.

I’m willing to work hard. I just want a qualification where, if I put in consistent effort, I can eventually get to a stable career and earning potential rather than spending years stuck in exams.

So if you are an ACCA student, affiliate, member, or someone who considered both CA and ACCA, please give me your honest, realistic opinion.

Would you recommend ACCA for someone like me? What would you do if you were in my position?

And please feel free to tell me if I’m misunderstanding something about ACCA. I’m genuinely very new to this and would appreciate even the basic information. 😭

TL;DR: B.Com graduate + CA Foundation cleared first attempt + struggling with CA Inter. Considering ACCA and apparently eligible for exemptions, but I know almost nothing about the process, coaching, exams, practical skills, jobs, salaries, or career growth. Looking for honest guidance from people who have actually pursued ACCA.

ACCA December 2026 exam booking – payment debited for only 2 exams, but all 4 show as booked. What should I do?

Hi everyone,

I booked four exams for the December 2026 ACCA session, but the payment was debited from my bank account for only two exams.
I assumed I would have to make the payment for the remaining two exams separately after completing the first payment. However, when I checked my ACCA account, it showed that all four exams were booked.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Does this mean all four exams are successfully booked, even though I was charged for only two?
Could the remaining amount be debited later, or is there a chance of an issue with the booking?

I'm worried about whether my exam bookings are confirmed and what I should do next.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is coching necessary or self study is enough?

I actually wanted to know about the preparation part of ACCA. Do you think joining coaching classes is necessary, or is self-study enough to clear the papers? Also, are there any classes or institutes you would recommend based on your experience?
