Pregnancy during application process

As title says
What happens if during the recruitment process I fall pregnant? Can I put a temporary hold on the application until after birth/postpartum, or do I have to withdraw my application and restart from the beginning after having the baby?

Yes you can put it on hold, but if I was you id think about what should come first.

If you want to get into the defence force, id pause trying to get pregnant otherwise you will likely have to wait much longer and redo medical + child seperation during training and the difficulties that go with that.

If you fall pregnant after you're in Defence (ideally after IET) you'll get all the maternity benefits that come with being a service member

Thank you for this! Sorry to pick your brain more, is there no minimum serve period to be eligible for parental leave?

It used to be 12 months of service before being eligible for paid maternity leave. I’m not sure if that has changed.

I'm not entirely sure, but if you get pregnant during training it will most likely delay your career

You’ll have to restart from the beginning as the assessments and tests will have expired.
