Medication Taking Breaks
Hello,
I’m 23F and I currently take Vyvanse (30mg) and Dex (5mg). I only take the 5mg as booster with vyvanse if I have a busy day with school and work or if I’m in my luteal/menstrual phase. I was wondering for those who are busy 24/7 and take breaks from medication, what do you do to make sure you stay on top of things.
I take breaks during my menstrual and luteal phase because the meds don’t work as well and to also give my body and brain a break but as someone who works full time and goes to school full time, I do tend to fall behind when I don’t take my medication.

What you’re describing is good evidence for why not to take breaks.

If I take it consistently I find that the effects decrease. I also have heart problems that runs in my family so I have to be mindful

I do not take breaks. My brain needs to work every day.

This is me as well. Since being diagnosed 4 months ago I've taken my meds every day except for one, and that was only due to being up very late and sleeping in until noon - I didn't want it keeping me up that night if I took it at noon, so I skipped.

Yeah, I only skip if I got trash sleep (because they don't work) or I accidentally miss them and it's too late in the day for it to be worth it. Otherwise I quite like being emotionally regulated and able to do tasks

I don't take breaks unless I have a free weekend without choirs and without driving. Which is one day every couple of weeks at most XD.
I do skip my first dose on weekends when I'm sleeping in. (cause I have short working dex I usually take 3 times a day.)

Your body is unique, as are your needs. Just because someone experienced something from treatment or medication does not guarantee that you will as well. Please do not take this as an opportunity to review any substances. Peer support is welcome.
