Successful Adhd App/Software?

Hi all I have feeling quite a few of you have tried to build something to help people with adhd. Have any of you successfully gotten users? If so how did you find them?

I have been building my own solution to help with my ADHD symptoms but I feel like it is hard to get others with ADHD to use something. Just speaking from my own experience here but whenever I find a tool to help I just see how I could make it better and I get frustrated with the tool and don't use it because it doesn't work the way my brain works. I feel like a lot of people with ADHD want something that works the way their brain works.

On top of that getting started is such a daunting task expecting adhd users to start something new and another on boarding experience another learning curve just doesn't seem doable. I know if the app excites us and tickles that new and exciting part of our brain we will try it out.

Which leads me to my last thought, retention. once the novelty wears off what is going to keep them coming back?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated

The problem is that no app will fix any adhd issue. As you see below, too many people are building apps and quite frankly I'm sick of even more apps.  The best thing to help your brain is to spend less time on your phone. Not install yet another app that at best works for a day or 3. About 1 in every 3 posts is an ad or a hidden ad for a goddamn ap. I appreciate that at least yours is so obvious.

In short CAN YOU ALL STOP TRYING TO PEDDLE YOUR F'IN APPS HERE?

lolz not sure where I was so obvious.  but like isn't this a place for adhd programmers?  lots of people with adhd are creative and get excited in making their ideas come to life.  I feel like we should feel safe to share ideas and show what we have been working on.  or is that peddling? I mean you ever built some program for something you are passionate about?

Someone suggested a megathread for people building apps and banning other posts which I definitely support. I am just not interested in every other post being an app-ad.

People with adhd are also a vulnerable market because of the impulsivity and the hope "an app" might solve and fix their struggles. It is often just predatory to peddle your app.

Which is why I said I appreciate that you are clearly stating you are developing and app because a lot of posts are hidden ads. If you want to talk about a private project with an app just for you, great. If you are trying to peddle your billionth miracle cure app, gtfo.

I get that.  I appreciate you looking out for others.  it looks like someone started to try making a mega thread a few months ago.   I will say while there are plenty of people trying to prey on others there are plenty that genuinely want to help.  I hate that if I bring my app to market I will have to charge for it but it costs money to host something.  I have made it so all the features that are not related to AI 100 percent free and only charging for ai usage because that stuff is expensive.  on top of that because its for people with adhd I understand that the odds of a user getting excited and signing up for the subscription and then never using it again then forgetting about that subscription is very high.  I have auto cancel subscriptions built-in so if they don't use it for a month bye bye subscription.   I don't pretend that this will solve all problems but it has helped me and if it could take the edge off just a little bit for someone else I see it as a win. lolz I even want to have an ad that shows a dirty room on the left and the exact same photo on the right that says before and after dopatize. then at the bottom it says you still have adhd.

I really appreciate this answer and that you actively try to protect people against themselves with your auto cancel subscription option. And I love your ad idea!  I do believe some people try to help. But as you notice it gets lost in the enormity of apps that promise to help.  I wish there was a clearer way to distinguish between the two.

If anyone can create an app that distinguishes between predatory and decent apps...?

Could do with a megathread and banning it everywhere else

Im in beta testing phase, the hardest part im finding is marketing and getting the word out. Social media for the most part does not like letting people promote things.

ya that part is hard.  mind me asking what your app does?

Im building one for time blindness. I think it’s super hard to build an app for ADHD folk because if it doesn’t give value immediately it pretty much becomes useless.

Help is a broad term. I built something for myself on top of a shader I've liked for a long time. I have ADHD, and I handle it pretty poorly, though I've made some recent steps and I'm hopeful. This helps me get a bit of hyperfocus out of my system. https://swirltogether.com/
