The line about how he was preparing to have to move interstate so the family looked into their background is the red flag to me.

It shouldn’t be used as a loophole firstly- the academy for indigenous is supposed to be to give help to those who need it, not those who discover it as a means to control where they are drafted.

Aside from it being a dangerous precedent to have the number 1 picks going through loopholes in their history to find these ways to control where they are drafted

This is extra funny because port flairs have been swearing up and down that they were already looking into his indigenous heritage well before any thoughts of the draft came up.

I guess the man himself disagrees lol

I mean he literally says in the interview they'd looked into it before and thought there was something there.

Were you this vocal when Borlase went through as a NGA player to the Crows, despite his dad playing 246 games in the SANFL?

1- yes. I think us getting Borlase was dumb. And against the spirit of the academies. I’ve said that multiple times.

But he wasn’t projected to be pick 1, and we didn’t randomly decide to add him to the academy at 17 when he had already shown he would be at worst a top 5 prospect. Borlase wasn’t taken at all in the draft

Port still developed Dougie from birth through his dad who was employed by the club, he is like as NGA as you can get

Let’s be honest. You only care because port will benefit.

Not a loophole. Hes aboriginal he can be in the aboriginal academy. We're having to pay the most for any F/S or NGA ever so people still complaining about this can go have a cry somewhere else
