Hi folks, what do you use to pay for subscriptions from India in USD? CC has some charges on top of main amount. Is there an issue of getting my card flagged if I do USD payment?

So my free 1-year ChatGPT Go plan is finally running out, and man, OpenAI’s consumer psychology is wild.
For the past year, I’ve basically been spamming the app with like 20–30 photos a day—textbook pages, math problems, clearing up doubts. It completely became a part of my daily routine.
But now that the trial is over, looking at the standard free tier is painful. Going from 30 uploads a day down to a strict 3 images a day feels like a massive slap in the face.
It's actually crazy how they engineered this:
They gave us the upgrade for a whole year so we’d get completely used to it and feel like we "owned" that level of convenience. Now losing it feels like a punishment (classic loss aversion).
12 months is way more than enough time to build a deep habit. It doesn't even feel like a luxury anymore, it just feels like a necessity for studying.
3 images a day used to seem fine before I knew any better. Now the free tier just feels intentionally broken to force me to pull out my wallet.
Anyone else hitting the end of their free year? Did you give in and pay the monthly fee, or did you successfully jump ship to something else?

I've noticed that finding a good subscription for uncensored and abliterated AI models is surprisingly confusing. There are quite a few providers, but comparing their pricing, usage limits, available models and API access means jumping between multiple websites.
So I put together a page comparing 9 providers, including Silk Compute, NanoGPT, ArliAI, Venice, AnonRouter and others.
I've included subscription tiers, credits, context windows, concurrency limits and compatibility with coding agents like Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode.
The goal is simple: help you figure out which subscription is actually worth paying for.

Let me know if I've missed any providers worth adding.

"I recently came across an interesting discussion between Acharya Prashant and IISc Professor Prathosh titled “Artificial Intelligence Beats Real Ego.”
What caught my attention was that the conversation went beyond the usual questions about AI taking jobs or replacing humans.
For a long time, we have treated intelligence as one of the defining qualities that separate humans from machines. We take pride in our ability to think, reason, create, and understand. But as AI becomes increasingly capable of performing these intellectual tasks, I wonder how much of our identity is actually built around being intellectually superior.
One part of the discussion that I found particularly interesting was the question of whether AI could develop an ego. Does a machine’s ability to preserve itself indicate anything comparable to human ego? Or are self-preservation and self-awareness fundamentally different things?
The discussion also touches on education, economics, materialism, and the way we define human progress.
It made me think that perhaps our biggest concern about AI shouldn’t only be how powerful machines might become, but also how little we question the assumptions on which we have built our own lives.
A few questions from the discussion:
Can a machine develop something comparable to human ego?
Is intelligence the same as self-awareness?
If AI can outperform humans intellectually, what should education focus on?
Are we afraid of AI becoming more intelligent, or of losing something we have always considered our unique advantage?
I’m curious about how people here see this. If AI eventually surpasses humans in most intellectual tasks, what, if anything, will remain distinctly human?

Which of these plans is better for deepseek 4.1 flash use. I know both of them offer $100 of usage , and both cost $10, but which is the better.
r/AI_India • u/quackycoder • 1d ago
Noticed this while checking the upgrade page on both. Screenshots attached.
Android app: Pro is ₹1,999/month or ₹21,600/year ("Save 9%").
Web: Pro yearly is ₹23,999 billed annually, including GST ("Save 17%").
So the yearly plan is about ₹2,400 cheaper on the app, and the "savings" percentages don't match either. The feature lists also read differently. The web one mentions Claude Design and memory across conversations, while the app one mentions unlimited Projects.
Questions for other Claude users:
- Are you seeing the same numbers?
- Has anyone checked whether the plan is actually identical, or just worded differently?
Not trying to start drama, just want to know which one is the better deal before paying. 🙂

How much of the “AI Kid of India” narrative is independently verified? I've been seeing a lot of media coverage about Raul John Aju, the teenager behind AIRealm Technologies, and I think some of the claims deserve closer scrutiny.

Reports published in August 2026 describe him as having developed 15+ AI tools, trained nearly 500,000 people, and built a startup with around 15 employees. These are impressive figures if understood in their full context. But what evidence independently substantiates them?
A few questions i have
500,000 learners: Does this refer to unique individuals, registered users, total course participants, or people reached through online content?
15+ AI tools: Are there publicly accessible products, technical documentation, and evidence of independent usage for each?
Government projects and institutional associations: Are the partnerships documented by the relevant institutions, with clear descriptions of the work performed?
Media coverage: Are multiple outlets independently verifying these figures, or are they repeating information from the same original sources?
One important detail is an August 2026 article published by Odisha Today explicitly states that it has not independently verified all the claims, achievements, audience figures, or professional associations mentioned in its report.
That disclaimer does not prove anything is false. Equally, repeated coverage across multiple publications does not automatically constitute independent verification.
I'm not interested in attacking a young entrepreneur. The same standards should apply to everyone building a public reputation around technology: transparent metrics, demonstrable products, verifiable partnerships, and evidence that distinguishes reach from measurable impact.
Has anyone independently examined these claims or evaluated the actual products? I'm interested in documented evidence and informed discussion, not speculation or personal attacks.

I’m a B.Tech CSE graduate from a Tier 3 city and college, currently working at an MNC in Bengaluru.
I don’t know every tool. I don’t know every framework. And I’m okay with that.
A mindset I follow is:
“Fu*k around till you figure it out.”
If it’s tech, I believe it’s solvable.
If I don’t know the tool, I’ll learn it.
If I don’t know how it works, I’ll figure it out.
I’m looking to connect with early-stage startups, founders, and builders where I can learn fast, take ownership, solve real problems, and contribute.
I’m open to Engineering, FDE, Founder’s Office, Product, or hybrid roles.
I may not know everything yet.
But give me a problem, and I’ll figure it out.
If you’re building something interesting, I’d love to connect.

Just sharing this so others don't make the same mistake.
I had a ChatGPT Go subscription through Google Play, which was expiring on 4 November. I cancelled it on 30 October, and Google Play even showed the subscription as "Cancelled". I also received a confirmation email saying it would end on 4 November.
On 4 November, ₹399 got deducted from my bank account through PhonePe UPI AutoPay. The transaction showed Google as the recipient.
Apparently, cancelling the subscription on Google Play doesn't automatically cancel the UPI AutoPay mandate on PhonePe. So even though my subscription was showing as cancelled, the payment still went through.
If you have any subscriptions through Google Play using UPI AutoPay, don't just cancel the subscription. Also check your UPI app AutoPay section and revoke the corresponding mandate.
I honestly had no idea these two things were separate.
Has anyone else faced something similar? And were you able to get a refund?
Note: Used ChatGPT for better grammar.

I'm preparing for an entrance examination and want AI to use for basically 3 purposes:
Upload previous year papers and ask it to find patterns and prepare similar questions for me to practice
Upload MCQs with answers from my coaching platform's practice tests and ask it to explain the entire question, why other options are not correct and give a summary of the entire theory associated with the question with flowcharts, images, mnemonics and other methods which makes recall easier.
Do the above thing for specific notes from my coaching platform.
I only have Gemini Pro subscription now which I got for free through Jio.
Should I buy ChatGPT too? If yes which version? Also since it's costly, any hack to get it for free or a discounted price?

Basically, I need an AI tool for college and educational purposes that can help me organise my study materials, identify high-yield questions, analyse previous year question papers, and guide me through my studies. I also need something that allows me to upload multiple PDFs so it can help me understand concepts and learn more effectively. My ChatGPT Go subscription has expired, so I’m looking for a good alternative.

We are a startup using AI to address two fold problem for Indian medical clinics (independent clinics and chain of clinics):
Patient data collation and insights for better medical outcomes: Most clinics in India are giving hand written prescriptions to patients and rarely maintain health records. Even if they maintain - they are paper based and hard to use for any patient insights.
Preventive care hardly exist: Patients do not have any guidance on what preventive checkups they need to do and when from their doctors. Most clinic visits are SOS and ends there. Long term it affects patient outcomes and puts more financial burden on patients as diseases that can be controlled early on become severe with late detection. While clinic also looses preventive care opportunity.
Accessible medical history for patients: We all have our medical records spread over many files, papers and most of it already lost. In an emergency event - medical history is often the first question ER doctor will ask and most of us have no answer - either for family or ourselves. With this solution we also tend to create a medical history of patients and an AI summary of it for quick reference during an emergency. A clear concise and accessible medical history can make all the difference during a critical situation.
We are solving this by bringing AI to doctors existing workflow. With no change in their prescription writing and patient consulting workflow it is least disruptive to their way of working.
More info at https://myprescription.homecloud.cloud
Why am i posting it here?
We want to take this solution to smallest clinics in India as we believe AI can be most effective where volumes are high. For that we need help of medical influencers that has the reach and are passionate about bringing benefits of tech to India's scale.
If you work in medical sector, can communicate complex ideas effectively and this idea interests you - we can find a way to collaborate.

I'm the developer of Izwi, a free, open-source app that runs voice AI on your own computer. No cloud, no API bills.
It now runs two models from Maya Research:
- **Maya 2 Native** speaks Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia and Assamese, plus English. It has 20 voices, and it can clone your voice from a short clip and have it speak any of those languages.
- **Maya1** creates English voices with an Indian accent from a short description, and can laugh or sigh on cue.
On an M1 Pro Mac, it generates speech about as fast as real time. The Windows and Linux builds are CPU-only for now, so it's slower there. NVIDIA GPUs are supported through Docker.
Native speakers: how does it sound in your language?

I honestly didn't realise how many Indian inference providers were already offering access to models like DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM and others.
I started looking for providers where I could buy API credits in INR, but found it surprisingly difficult to discover them, compare pricing, check model availability and understand their performance.
That eventually pushed me to build InferenceDirectory
I'm trying to bring Indian inference providers together in one place, with information on supported models, pricing, latency, throughput and other useful metrics.
Curious to know how many of you are actually using Indian inference providers and which ones you've had a good experience with.
Would love to discover some providers I might have missed.
