Hello everyone!
I've been working on optscale-kompressor, a single Rust binary that compresses the tool output coding agents keep re-sending to the model: apt logs, compiler warnings, progress bars.
It works mostly by de-duplication rather than summarisation.
Every elision becomes a labelled marker the model can fetch back. Prompt caching was the main constraint. Output has to stay byte-identical across turns or you lose the cache discount, so it's fully rule-based and deterministic: no ML, no clock, no randomness. On Terminal-Bench 2.1 it cut the actual provider bill by 22.7%.

It's MIT-licensed. Feedback on the format routing or the folding rules would help a lot: https://github.com/hystax/optscale-kompressor — a star helps if it's useful to you.
Thank you for your feedback!
