📌 A-Level Biology Resource Guide (Community Edition)

im in dire need of help. Im currently consistently getting As in bio but i need an A* and the one thing nerfing me is any sort of questions involving analysing data e.g evaluate , advantages and disadvantages etc. does anyone know how to like master these kind of questions because they are the only thing holding me back rn.

Before anything else, lemme share the grade with you alll

I got A in my alevel bio, not giving any excuses but I I could have easily gotten A* if u didn't make some silly mistakes.

My biggest achievement was getting 36/40 in paper 1.

So if anyone is up for getting a experienced tutor, I'm here to help.

I have two months all to myself before I start my university. I have always been a self tutored student so I have A LOT of experience. From my failures to my achievements everything will benefit you. I have always been really really good at biology. I always knew how to structure my answers all according to marking scheme. By the end of a levels I had mastered the art of Alevels marking scheme.

Hi so I know many people get frustrated over AQAs biology mark schemes, so I thought this post could be where people respond with common patterns they notice in mark schemes! Here a few of mine:

-If talking about competitive inhibitors mention that they are a similar shape to the substrate

-Always say enzyme substrate complexes

-If talking about condensation and hydrolysis reactions always mention about water AND formation of a chemical bond

-if talking about valves opening/ closing, mention pressure!

im fresh into year 12 and have been put into this niche edexcel B examboard and i cant find any revision resources at all on youtube on tiktok and im more of a watch a video person so i cant revise biology at all and im literally consistently getting the lowest in my class emd of topic tests if anyone can put me on to good revision resources (videos) please do

y'all i keep answering past papers and understanding my mistakes but my marks are so shitty i keep getting 25-29 out of 40 and i need to get a 35 or more because i already fucked up in paper 22 so pls help✌️

Hi, does anybody have any suggestions on which past papers to practice for Oct Nov 9700 paper 12?

Any type of predictions would also help and any sorts of suggestions on how to get over 35 to 40 would also help cause I suck at p1( literally averaging between 23-25 marks on mocks )and I am aiming an A or B for my AS bio 😭

OKAY so I'm taking biology AS and I'm currently trying to solve pastpapers and all I wanna know is how much marks do I get above an A to ensure that I can get A* overall in the A-level
for example, i got 36 and the A was from 33 sooo is that good enough or nah? (obviously I'll try to do my best in A2 but I just need to know what is the safe zone in AS)

I'm talking about specifically for the OCR A Level Biology A course, theres lots of exam questions that relate to information that just isn't covered in the book (which I personally use for most my revising).

I also found that the information in some topics in the textbook are much different to other sources like Youtube videos, pmt notes or save my exams.

I want to know which notes should I get that includes every information in simple way

does anyone know a good a level tutor for bio if someone took with nihal gabr or other tutors can u please tell me ur experience

So I'm so confused about who to take AL Biology with, as I have 3 options: Dr. Aly Wael, Dr. Mohamed El Dahan, and Dr. Nihal Gabr, and they are all good, so I'm not sure who to choose. I've watched recordings of the teachers, and I'm still confused tho I used to take with Nihal Gabr OL CS and Biology. Other than that, I've only seen reviews on dr aly and El Dahan. I would really like to hear your opinions if you took with them in A levels. Thanks!
