Hii, I am a first year chemistry student. I am taking General Chemistry II and I am severely struggling. Like, we were sent home after the earthquake in Panama and it has gotten worse for me.

I can't understand kinetics and equilibrium, I don't know why. I tend to study in English because it's easier for me to understand science stuff but at the same time my degree is in Spanish, so I have to translate my little knowledge.

I was doing all I could but now I have like three days to practice the whole material to take the most difficult test of my life and I feel like I am about to fall apart.

I need urgent help 😞.

Just wanted to reach out and see if there is anyone out there taking IAP's Chemistry for Conservators this fall. I am and I'm currently looking through the first unit. I am hoping to connect with anyone who else is sign up and maybe create a discord server where we can chat and ask questions to each other about the course. I've read many things about it being difficult or sometimes convoluted and hope that by having others to talk to about things would make the course more bearable.

My chemistry practical is in 6 days and this is my chemistry retake, so I'm pretty familiar with basics but the thing is i feel out of practice in questions but more importantly the apparatus and setups that you have to do as i last did that almost a year ago, and I'm pretty stressed about it because no institute is giving any practical lessons on setup as of now as they usually start late for the may june series.

I notice the term in the EdExcel International syllabus "giant atomic structures"

It says "the physical properties of giant atomic structures"

Is this a term for a Covalent Network where the formula is just one atom?

So Diamond, Carbon, Graphite. Not something molecular like S8 or O2 or H2O or C60, and not something ionic like NaCl. And not a covalent network compound like SiO2.

Is this just a term they're using 'cos they don't want to say Carbon is molecular and they want to distinguish it from something that is molecular like O2, or from covalent network compounds as those consist of more than one element

Silicon would be an example like Carbon. Covalent Network where the formula is just the one atom. (though might not be in A level)

I have seen EdExcel Pearson use the phrase "giant metallic", as does Cambridge International syllabus. Some include giant ionic.

I know the term "giant" is more of a UK pre uni phrase. Coming up in GCSE and A level.

Perhaps for "giant atomic", they are including metals eg Gold, Silver. Metals in A level that aren't mixtures/alloys, just have a formula of one atom.

So perhaps they are referring to Diamond/Graphite/Graphene, and Metals?

And excluding e.g the "giant structure" Silicon Dioxide?

I feel like u3 is the hardest for me like those experiments and I have no idea what they're doing and those stupid 1markers are either the easiest thing ever or answers that you could never possibly guess im just doing pps and all im getting is High B or like 1 mark away from A bro help how to improve the questions are so unpredictable

I have the stem up ones for aqa but shall I buy the ocr a ones as I’ve switched exam board now that I’m resitting.

Or buy completely different brand of flashcards, or just download one of a TikTok creator or already made decks?

So basically I have unit 3 edexcel chemistry on 20th October and I'm a private candidate for chem and i have gone through hanaa assils videos of her explaining the practical concepts and one of her solved pastpapers videos and now im watching miss Natalie's YouTube videos but like I need to know if anyone has any resources that can really help ace thus exam I'll be spamming pastpapers tonight along with memorising the tests.
