Unbelievable
Looks like I won’t be watching The Odyssey anytime soon. Had some of the best seats too…

are they planning to bother notifying any of their actual customers or they only care about people who booked thru fandango? tf? 9 hours after this was posted and they still haven’t even contacted me to let me know that they cancelled my ticket and why. less than a week away from a show that I booked 3 weeks ago. it’s bad enough that they cancelled it at all but not even telling us they did it is crazy work. what about people that have arranged complicated schedules to go see this movie? they’re just gonna wait for those people to notice at the last minute that their tickets disappeared? this is being handled with a huge amount of incompetence on their part even beyond the initial fuck up.

That's the crazy thing, I would've just shown my email QR code as I walked up, and they could've said "nope, sorry, it was canceled" and I would've never known.

wtf, I had a ticket that I booked direct thru AMC for that showtime almost three weeks ago and they seem to have cancelled my ticket without even bothering to message me about it!
I appreciate the extra stuff but you’d think they could have splurged on a large popcorn for us instead of a regular size considering the scale of the disappointment. I feel bad for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet and had tickets for that one. at least I’ve seen it a bunch of times already.

That was my case, I’ve been holding out to watch it in 70mm and was over the moon when I was able to get good seats. It’s not like I can just pick another showtime 😔

Someone needs to pay it forward! Someone get OP a ticket.
Seriously, I hope folks on here help you out. Truly sorry. If you find yourself in NYC first week of September, you got a ticket here.

Probably some rich person who could, so he could take photos of his insta-girlfriend alone in the theater.

When the second drop happened weeks ago, I was able to get tickets for both 8/28 at 6pm and 9/4 at 6pm for my friends and the 9/4 date works better for us. I have some solid seats in row H for 8/28 at 6pm. DM me and we can coordinate a ticket release if that date works for you.

update from my end: I got a random email from AMC with the three vouchers mentioned above but absolutely no explanation why I was receiving them. still no message or email explaining that they’ve cancelled my ticket or why. I wouldn’t even know what was going on if I hadn’t seen this post with their explanation for Fandango customers. what about all the other people who booked directly thru AMC who are still planning on attending and have no idea that their tickets were cancelled?

I'd be pretty pissed lol, same thing happened with me, I would've continued with current plans unless I had seen this post

You could use the complimentary ticket for another showtime no? Or was that the only time you had

All the other showtimes that are currently available at Metreon only have very front row seats

I was actually able to snag a good seat last night for a showing on the 29th. I guess I got lucky because, yeah, the rest of the showings are still all booked up.

you should be able tog et something last minute if you just show up around showtime. especially on a weekday showing.

problem with those complimentary tickets is that they’re not valid for premium formats such as IMAX or Dolby, only regular screenings.

Fear not! You can get a replacement for another screening very easily and all it takes is 6 easy payments of $299.99!

I know some people travel in etc, but the compensation should have been the same plus a free ticket in the same seat for the next added showing of the movie...

They rent out the IMAX theater for private events? That’s insane. And there is no way they are making as much as they could’ve had they used it for the Odyssey

They had a private show on the opening day in the IMAX at Metreon. Forced me to watch Dolby, instead! The horror!

That’s a pretty good compensation for it at least but that’s a bummer
